Dont forget the grass roots in this football pyramid. These Russian monoface Oligarchs and Arab Habibi Sheikhs need to invest 50m on the youngsters and local community. It's important that theTurin community and Italian brethren feel worthy, especially them factory workers who work shifts and don't get to see their newborn till they retire. Football is nothing without our factory workers.

Love and miss that old logo by the way, it brought us so many fond memories. Jj ruined us. One thing that annoyed me about Vikings and our fans was where the hell were they on a cold night coppa Italia match against the likes of Lecce at stadio Delle alpi? We barely used to get 800 in attendance.

Something's off, too much fake news. I'd rather wait for an official statement.
What are you waiting on exactly? All trecharous prem clubs have issued their statements. It's over.

Real and Juve are going to be among the two most despised clubs

Oh well, atleast we are not alone in this.
Lol indeed, it was a genius move in Agnelli appointing Perez as the chairman, and having him appear in the first interview.

Lmao, amazing that this collapsed! Now ban all the clowns from this forum who were actually praying for this thing to happen and let's get back to reality. Can't believe how many big corp-cucks on this forum were actually cheering for a fucking McDonalds league with Arsenal and Tottenham, with shorter games and cheerleaders played in fucking Dallas and Doha. This was all a scheme for the rich to get richer, and you all were fucking baited and look absolutely retarded now. The emperor has no clothes.

I'll also give a small tip to people that were actually crying that we have to play teams like Cagliari and Lecce from time to time: stop watching Juventus. It's not for you. Playing against historic Serie A teams comes with the deal you absolute mongoloids, if you want your nipples tittilated all the time go watch the Premier league or better yet, switch sports completely.

Spectacular fall, can't help but feel 80% of it was due to lack of plan regarding communication. Agnelli took the time to explain it to Juventus players, but never to the wider public. The English signed the contract and went into hiding. Only Perez took a stand publicly, but by then the fate of the league (as we can see in hindsight) was already decided as the English public had been swayed hours ago

@Ronn

NHL season is 56 games this year, teams have played around 45 games thus far. Not a single one of the 31 teams has clinched a playoff spot yet of which there are 16. And only 2 teams just in the last couple days eliminated from playoff contention.

But I guess it isn’t competitive at all according to the special bunch here. Terrible closed competitions can’t be lol
The NHL has ~30 teams. Europe has thousands. It's close to impossible to Americanise football in Europe. Unless they take everyone along for the ride. A breakaway league from UEFA would be a lot more possible if they didn't announce a monopoly that looks worse than the current monopoly. If they came out and said that in the future there'd be relegation/promotion, that they'd spread a lot of money across the clubs not in the competition. Instead Perez went on air to say that he's saving football from the tyranny of UEFA by closing it to everyone else.

The sad fact in all of this is that the EPL reigns king again. The SL folks should have hired whatever PR agency EPL was using. To be able to sink a $6 Billion enterprise in two days is phenomenal.

No one in their right mind would want an American system of any kind. The playoffs, those fascinating ideas, the novelty ... I mean thats why 'soccer' ain't so popular, right???

And why are those boring farts - the billionaires - buying(ops, saving!) clubs they knew nothing about a year ago? I would think to make money and have some political cloth. But you can't have both - people paying to support you and enjoying the 'customer' treatment half-way. I thought at least the customer was always right? Or money talks only in the hands of the few?

Agnelli made a colossal mistake. Montezemolo level of stupidity, but with a sprinkle of greed in it. I guess the math was Asian and American markets, but they f'd up. Probably needs to resign now. The backlash won't be done for decades. Once you commit to such a monstrosity you better have a plan. His plan was greed would triumph and it worked flawlessly too - the amuricans ate his supper.

bad PR on the clubs side ruined the project. If they would clearly communicate and speak with the fans it would probably be a tad different, they also should at least create an illusion of qualification phase, just like UEFA does.

Well at least there are some lessons learned. You need better PR in the future, maybe even launch some football legends into the management of the new super league. When Perez and Agnelli come out to say something, everyone is seeing pile of money talk. That's the image in their brains. But when you put out Figo or Davids out there to talk, then you might gain some trust.

All in all, there's always next time. Maybe even next year.

Try to persuade PSG, Dortmund... put in there Ajax... and you got yourselves 10-12 teams that can be better then CL and Premier League combined.

They are still very close to achieving this. It might take few years, bit I'm convinced it will happen.

Funny how it is being titled as "fans saving the game" over here. Very poor PR, in all honesty. I must have replied to a dozen people telling them it wasn't to replace the Premier League.

Meanwhile everyone was focusing on this and UEFA slipped a diluted and bloated version of the ESL under the door and few people cared.
