They did it, the sheer pressure involving government and threats on controlling, putting legislation and forcing owners to sell etc played a part. Uefa were running in circles, they ran to FIFA, the media, the FA's everyone to apply pressure. Money wasn't a factor, it was the sheer pressure and reputational damage.
