Agree. Didn't think he he would beat Djoko in a night match , but he somehow did it. I don't think he was the favorite in this matchup.
If it wasn't for recuring injuries he would be so far ahead.

Without the recurring injuries he would have won 2009 French and Wimbledon. Was close to unbeatable from 2008-2010 when heathy. And he’d likely have another Aussie or two.

I consider the 2008 version of Nadal the best version of a tennis player in history.

I hated him back then lol. Ever since Federer's level dropped I really started appreciating Nadal more. I like him now

For me it was the opposite. I never liked federer and supported nadal since his first win, but i developed a huge respect for him after roger's win against rafa at australian open in 2017(?).
