1$ per liter?

That's quite a bit cheaper than what we pay...
How much do you pay?

Then again, you guys have good public transport systems in Europe, so you don't really need cars that much. Public transport here is absolute shit, maybe with the exception of dubai, who now have a decent public transport system relatively to other parts of the region

Yeah it's R7.45c at the moment, roughly calculated its $1. Plus the government is putting up so many toll roads, its unbelievable.

What are you paying over there?

We payed to upgrade all public facilities through tax & now we are expected to pay for the up keep of newly built roads & toll gates. Makes me sick.
We pay approximately 50cents a liter

In Dubai we have a lot of electronic toll gates too. I pass by 3 toll gates everytime i go to uni, each one is about 1.25$

Tell me about it. I pay about five times that much every summer to travel to Libya. I don't think theres much of a difference between London - Turin and Dubai - Tripoli.
Even off the top of my head I could tell that was bad geography :D

London - Turin 890km
Dubai - Tripoli 4160km

That was sloppy. I knew there was a difference between them, but i thought the difference was minimal. Woah, Turin isn't that far from London at all then.

Right now; at the very least 1,20€. Prices tend to fluctuate though.

As for the decent public transport system: not really. In the cities it's (more than) ok, outside of them it's extremely limited.

Same here. If you don't have a car, you're pretty much screwed because the public transportation here is non existent.

They have started with buses that operate 18hrs a day now & the underground system is well under way.

Lucky bastard!:D

They are installing about 4 toll gates from my offices to my warehouse. The distance is only 40km, which is insane if you think of it.

That's way more then what we pay considering one euro is equivalent to R9.90.

Do you have to own a car there in Belgium?

Because if not, its a lot better there than it is here. Its virtually impossible to work here if you don't have a car. Unless you're willing to pay half your salary on cabs.

Your public transport is pretty shitty indeed. Most of the foreigners i met from here eventually rented a car out of frustration :D

Its way more shittier here btw, only Dubai has a semi decent public transport system.

They put actual physical gates over there in SA right?

Here they're electronic, there isn't an actual physical gate, but once you pass by an electronic one, they send you an sms telling you they took money from you.

Did you see the darkie taxis?:D Those are awful but they have a huge influence on the economy.

Its worse there? I hardly believe that.

Yeah they put physical gates. As for taking money from your account.

In fact they're going to the electronic system & we as road users have to pay for a device that will scan the vehicle & pay via road transport account.

Ya, were those guys asked to talk about the world cup as part of promotion or something? Whenever i got into a darkie taxi, all they'd do is talk about the world cup.

Taxi driver: Howzit

Me(in a terrible attempt to replicate SA accent): Shap shap

Taxi driver: You here for the World Cup Bra

Me: Ya.

Taxi: Ya good game yesterday by Brazil

Me: Ya, cold weather ey?

Taxi Driver: Eish, that was a good game Brah.

I'm impressed. +rep

Nah, the black community in SA is football crazy, that's all they care about. The rest like Rugby & Cricket, whereas i like all three.

But the country really was united behind the WC & everybody made a concerted effort to make every foreigner welcome.

You did that very well indeed. World Cup was a huge success, and i'm glad i got to go.

South Africa really made Africa proud

Yes. For me personally it's pretty much impossible to get anywhere without one.

Maybe you could get by without one if you live in a city, but even that's far from certain. Plus, public transport isn't exactly cheap either.

Flights booked for the 10th of December to the 13th. Staying at the Hotel Astoria.

Cost? For me and my Uncle £110 per person for 3 nights. Bargain especially for him considering I'm paying. Only problem I'm flying from Stanstead in London.

Juventus vs Lazio will be the game I'm going to.
I'll be there 3 days after you'll leave. Flights with return + Hotel for 2 nights + Match ticket cost me about €200. Not too bad.

Which hotel have you picked?

But here I was thinking that it was fairly cheap for me to travel to Turin, when in fact it turns out that I pay more than you guys :depressed
