I'z a white peep, and I'm part-time South African. I've lived 6 weeks out of this year in a house with six-foot walls and electrical fences. I've eaten ostrich, kingclip, boerwors on a bun and even biltong. I call penguins "sea chickens". I have the same scarf as Jacob Zuma. Hell, I even know what "Afrikaaps" refers to.

I'm worried about you, you've assimilated way to quickly.
Last week only, 2 deaths from shark attacks occurred in sharm and stories emerged that there were simply too many sharks close to shore all around Sharm so the authorities there took the decision to finish some of them off apparently and closely monitor things.
First they opened the shores for pro divers and after 2 days now they decided to give the nod for anyone.

That's so true. once colonization disappeared everybody forgot about looking after each other & just concentrated on their own bs.Do you guys get a lot of immigrants from the poorer african countries like DRC & Djibouti? We have a few Egyptian guys here but they're rather dodgy mofos.
I see but how did the public react to the elections? What did the opposition parties have to say, did they not react angrily & demand a recount?
As for our president he actually has surprised me with his new form of government, he has made some impressive moves to stamp out corruption & under performing government officials but education & medium of instruction still hasn't been fully addressed.We have eleven official languages here & that's why there's a huge problem with the delivery of education. That said, i know government officials get up to rubbish with sex workers but has any presidential candidate ever been elected president when the public knew full well about his perverted private life? NO, ONLY IN AFRICA.

@the people who want to kill the sharks bit!!! thats soo egyptain!!!!!! as for the elections bro the public is divided in this country. lets not forget illitereacy is pretty high over here not just that even people with good education dont understand how the parliament system works!!!! so it passed over most of the peoples head as if nothing happened. besides B people dont give a f*** who runs this country as long as they get food and money
i'm being serious life is made tough for us so that this is all that matters. democratic elections, transparency etc are not soo crucial for the majority of egyptains at least not the ones like my fellow comrades on this forum.i think the best person to describe the political situation in this country is hist he knows waaaaaaay too much for his own good

That's just the thing Ahmed, these governments love bringing up the past to avoid dealing with the issues that affect the country. Illiteracy is a major issue, i really didn't know it's that bad there. The country will never move forward at the pace it's supposed to if that isn't addressed. They even dropped the standard of education to accommodate kids that are struggling. We have 20yr olds in highscool for fucksakes. Back in my day, you would have caught so many ass whoopings you would have made damn sure you studied or cheated effectively. Thing is Ahmed, if you don't educate the masses, you can easily manipulate the masses & rule over the country for ages. Unless that is sorted people won't learn how to think long term. We have the same issue with the majority black community, the ruling party loves dishing out free food & entertainment during election periods, & guess what, they win with bringing up the past & reminding everybody about the apartheid regime.
As for our president, at least he's making significant deals with Brazil, India & latin american countries & it can only bode well for the country in the long term.The state of our hospitals are putrid & we have signed agreements with Cuba of all places but apparently their health care system is second to none.
