i take it things didn't work out
It's not so much the fact that Montreal didn't get the 1st pick. I wasn't expecting that, just hoping that they didn't drop to the 4th spot.

This is all very odd that Edmonton has now received the #1 pick three years in a row. The first 2 seasons I can understand when they had the worst record.

Dammit, saw that happening when we couldn't increase the lead in the 2nd. Philly got a couple breaks this game, but the Malkin line needs to step up in the next two games if the Pens are gonna stay in this.

should be a win
:lol::lol: Can't ever count out the Flyers, bro.

That non call on the offside was bad and then PITS crumbled. Shouldn't have because it was still 3-1.
That's something Milan would complain about.

Can't wait for Friday, Aaron. I think you might've been right on your five game prediction :D

:D

Tonight, Brayden Holtby gets his first taste of the pressures inherent in playoff hockey. Boston was tied with Philly for the number 2 offense in the league, so he better be ready, cause the Bruins have the depth to come in waves... one quality shift following right after the other. Gotta get that big bad forecheck going early, put some pressure on a few turnover prone dmen.

I'm liking the boys' collective mindset, sounding legitimately focused in all their interviews. It's sad that Horty got shut down for the playoffs, that's a big loss, but the room will use it as motivation - just like they did against the Canucks. Hopefully he gets himself healthy for next year, and this doesn't turn into another Savard situation. Makes me queasy just thinking about it.

I'm a bit worried about the Bruins D, though. Sounds like Boychuk is going to be ready, and we need him badly. Hopefully McQuaid will come around in another game or two, because Joe Corvo needs to be sitting in a cozy box, 8-9 levels above the ice.

What a great slate of games last night. I walked into the Philly/Pitt game at 3-1, what a treat that was! Then to end the night with a Kings win in Vancouver... there's nothing quite like the pace of playoff hockey. I am fucking primed for tonight!

i definitely think that holtby has the talent to become a top goalie, i'm just worried about throwing him to the goons (sorry, you guys play like goons :D ) already. i think you guys are going to take it in 7 though. we might have the best 1st line in the nhl (talent wise, my biased judgement perhaps ), but it's hard to compete vs several quality lines.

if ovie and backstrom are in the mood, anything can happen.

Throwing him to the goons :howler:

It's a body contact sport, man, this isn't footy. Boston plays the quintessential North American game; North-South, straight lines, with lots of skill, great size, and a big time edge. Get ready for some banging. The B's forecheck is going to hammer Washington's defense.

You're right though, lots of skill in Washington, and the Caps are going to be very motivated. It's going to be a tough series, ought to be very entertaining.
