I can't believe we got Oswalt for him. But yeah, I never cared for Happ but I hope he turns out alright.
You guys gave up him, a first baseman that's in triple A, and some decent draft picks.

Happ's alright, but he just went from having an era of like 2.25 to 4 something last season.

Brett Myers is our closer now.:D

what are the odds of the caps actually beating the bruins? close to none, i might not eeven watch it.
Washington won the season series against the Bruins 3 games to 1; close games, though, two by a goal, and another one that went to a shootout. Like GB said, anything can happen in playoff hockey, although a lot will depend on Holtby, and how he handles the pressure.

Both Washington and Boston were starting to round into some very good form at the end of the season, it should be an interesting series.

Of course it won't.

I'm scared of who we'll name GM and coach. We hire Serge Savard as G. Molson's consultant to help him find a GM but he's been out of hockey for 18 years now. Yes he still got his contacts but I would have made a phone call to Jacques Lemaire or Scotty Bowman for some help. Savard want a guy that speaks French. The best pick was Jim Nill of Detroit but we can scratch him off from the list unfortunately. My second would be Pat Brisson(famous player agent) because of his negotiating skills and contacts but does he have a great hockey mind? It remains to be seen. The French media here all want Julien Brisebois. A great NHL collective bargaining connaisseur but I'm not even sure if he knows the hockey part of it. He'd need to find an assistant who knows that. The English media are pushing for Pierre McGuire.

I wouldn't say the team sucks ass. We're not a last place team but more in the 7th-8th-9th East club atm, this year was just bizarre.

@ the coaching position I can only see Patrick Roy. He's doing very well with the Remparts and won everything in the junior league. We all know Patrick and his temper/cockyness/control freakness but that's Patrick.

Is it too early to hope the Habs tank next season so that they can get MacKinnon next year?
:D

It won't be Brisson, Mark. I heard He pulled his name from the running a few days ago (Pretty sure it was TSN), said it wouldn't be fair to his clients/he's got enough on his plate, or something to that effect. He's got some huge names, obviously, I imagine he'd have to take a paycut as well.

The GM hire is just so important, and it's obviously much more difficult when a club is limited to bilingual candidates. I do think that it could be Roy at coach, but that's just from all the rumors. Too bad Muller isn't an option anymore, he's doing some good things in Carolina.

Also need to bite the bullet, and start by cutting Scott Gomez, and freeing up 3.75M or so (if memory serves, I believe the buyout entitles a 50% reduction on the cap hit?). That's important money for MTL.

Good luck in the lottery tonight boys!

guys i'm really sorry to keep asking you, but i'm new to all this background knowledge about hockey. how would you rate the caps management, GM (since you say he's so important) ?? we've got some pretty big names, but from what i can read on the web we've pretty much stretched our wage budget. which sucks when you consider that we basically have no 2nd line.

I'm not even going to bother worrying about the 2013 draft, because if Edmonton is in the top 5 again, they will end up with MacKinnon

fucking shit!

I guess we'll go for Forsberg then.

I'm pretty sure EDM would have picked Murray if they had #2. They can't let Nail go. Could they trade that pick? yeah but...fuck it!
