No he doesn't, he's tied with two better players and leaders from Team Yzerman. Plus Thornton has what, three goals?

I've always said he can make a nice pass, but as a scorer, leader and captain, he's a consummate piece of trash.
And you must forgive me. There isn't much to like on team Canada, apart from Toews and the beast Doughty.
Who cares if he scores many goals? You're talking about a guy who's got multiple seasons with 90+ assists. Guess who else has done that?
He makes the players around him MUCH better goal scorers (see Cheechoo with 50+). They're also using him more in defensive situations; he's worked hard to develop his game in other areas. That demonstrates leadership, buddy - working hard in practice, leading by example. Playing hurt also demonstrates leadership.
Anyway, I understand that you like to hate on some guys, which is cool. Everybody has players they don't like, but there are also quite a few NHL coaches that disagree with your assessment about Thornton's leadership qualities.
What if the Sharks win the Cup? Would you change your tune?
Consummate trash? C'mon now...
The only guys that I legitimately don't like from Team Canada are Heatley and Pronger - not the most likable guys.
I understand why you don't like a lot of the guys from San Jose and Anaheim though.
He's about to sign a multi-year deal with the Preds.
Do you have any sources for this buddy? I had heard that Nashville was likely going to have trouble locking down Weber long term.
Pitkanen, Bieksa and Christian Ehroff. Not bad. Would love to get one of those.
I don't think those boys will be leaving Vancouver - I guess we'll see. Gillis has done a great job with that team.
I'm not a big fan of Pitkanen.
Surprise of the summer. Shea Weber to Detroit!
C'mon... you know you don't want players from Team Canada.
Now let's not talk about the Saints on the US team with diver/faker extraordinaire Kesler and Taxi cab driver puncher Kane.

I actually like Kesler, but I'll throw Kessel's name out there.
Komisarek was also selected to the team, even though he didn't play. Man I hate that guy.
I read the other day that Montreal has 18 free agents! That's crazy. Should make for an exciting/interesting summer for Habs fans.
