It was a great season, one in which we overcame so much adversary and bad luck. With the amount of injuries we had, no other team could have finished with 100 points... YET AGAIN. So I'm proud of this team.

What I'm not proud of, however, is this league. The NHL. Every single bit of it makes me cringe. From the refereeing errors that cost teams series, to some of the expansion teams with fans who should be beaten to death with an object in their favorite sport of baseball, the league needs a complete overhaul. For this league to represent the bastion of elite hockey, my second favorite sport, it just needs to be better. I cannot accept it the way it is.

Congrats to the Sharks and their fans. But to Marleau, Thornton, and their overall team: once a choker, always a choker. And I hope the Hawks or Canucks are able to facilitate that verbiage to be spread once again.

We will be back again next year despite the retards saying we won't.

Congrats gonch..that's why the pens are so damn good...when malkin and crosby don't shine..you always have gonch, stall or even letang to help. Fleury was great

Dear God, let anyone win the Lord Stanley but Disney's Shitsburg Penguins and that Sharks team that are in sunny California and whose fans are adult size retarded children.

I just don't get them. They love their Steelers, their Barry Bonds and their Hills, but the hockey comes second. Actually, even the Raiders have more fans than the Sharks.

    What gives?

I just don't like them, never will. Bet you these people didn't even know "kneeing" is a possible offense.

    Notable unrestricted free agents:

Tanguay, Frolov, Demitra, Malhotra, Kariya, Koivu, Kubina, Kovalchuk, Svatos, Lombardi, Torres, Hamhuis, Plekanec, Mara, Eaton, Paul Martin, Marleau, and of course Lidstrom.

Some nice picks out of that list. Lombardi would be a great signing as he's good both ways, fast, and has a current contract under 2M. I'd like him in Detroit. Frolov and Tanguay are pretty good wingers, but Frolov will probably want 3M+.

But what about Plekanec? Will the Habs re-sign him for 4 or 5M? He's a good two-way player, might have some playoff issues (although has been good so far), so I'd love to get him in Detroit. But that possibility is very slim.

I'd really like to get another goal-scoring winger, but that might not be possible.

Lidstrom should be re-signed to a deal around 4M each year.

A guy like Hamhuis is also a solid blue liner who always plays well against us, so he might be a good recruit.
