Coming down to the stretch. Only a few more games left for one and all.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm?season=20092010&type=CON

I can't help but think one of Boston or Montreal is going to choke up that final playoff spot. Right now, it looks like it will be the Habs because the Bruins have two games in hand and the Thrashers have one in hand. Sorry, guys.

:snoop:
Don't apologize. I'd rather they not make the playoffs and let the powers that be at NHL Headquarters rig the draft so that Montreal gets the first pick, then have them get broomed by Washington in the first round

No apologies brother, it does indeed look like it could go that way. Gotta love Dennis Wideman attempting to block 2 shots today that he ended up deflecting past a helpless Thomas. As if Wides season could get any worse. :sergio:

Of course, with no established quality goalies, I would say that Philly isn't necessarily safe either. I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

I would take the 2nd pick over making the playoffs; obviously they're not connected in any way. I find myself cheering fiercely against the Leafs these days. I'm in Ontario for the first time in 3 years (Toronto actually), visiting with friends... there is a ridiculous amount of trash talking going on around these parts.

If only the Leafs would stop playing so well. What's even worse is that 2/3 games they've gone against our direct competition for a playoff position, and in both games manages to come from behind (iirc), and win in OT. So frustrating that they're giving up that extra point while potentially reducing our draft odds.

3-0 after the first 20 against the Oilers. This year we have been pretty poor against them, the worst team in the league, but today we aren't fucking around.

If we keep this up into the playoffs clubs better watch the fuck out. This season might have been, just might, a blessing in disguise. Now we aren't taking anything for granted.

Antropov scored the winner against the Leafs for the Thrashers. :howler:

But things are heating up in the East.

    6. Flyers 82
    7. Montreal 82
    8. Bruins 82
    9. Trashers 80
    10. Rangers 78

The only problem for the Thrashers is that they have to play the Caps twice from here on out and have one game less than their rivals for the 8th spot. But if they can win their other games they could stand a good chance. The Rangers might sneak in as well since they have one more game to play.

Not sure what will happen but there shall be big surprises (or little ones for some).

The Pens signed Letang to a 4-year, $3.5M deal.

I told you they wouldn't sign him for less than a couple million, Eazy.

That was an incredible game to watch, Mark. Quite ridiculous performance by Halak, yet so much choking on both sides.

The Flyers are such a joke. Now they're in trouble of losing the spot. Rangers have a game in hand.

Rollie, your Bruins are pissing me off. They got the point tonight but could have had two. Please get in there along with the Rangers so that the city of Brotherly Love's group of degenerate thugs heads out golfing a bit early this year.

That goes for you too, Habs. Don't fuck up.

And when you guys make it, and I KNOW you will, if you play the Pens, give them some of this.
