You wrote to me once...listing the four chief virtues: Wisdom...justice...fortitude...and temperance. As I read the list, I knew I had none of them. But I have other virtues, Father... Ambition. That can be a virtue
when it drives us to excel. Resourcefulness, courage.Perhaps not on the battlefield, but there are many forms of courage.Devotion to my family...But none of my virtues were on your list.

It won't be Crosby, that's for sure. Giving it to him while they have Pronger, Iginla, Gagne and Rob Blake would be absurdity.

The kid is good, but he's got a long ways to go to being a great captain. One of the things he needs to do is become a leader defensively, not just offensively.
as long as gonch is playin for pens ...sid won't get in that zone.

yep...sid won't be a leader defensively...he won't organize the defence during the game or sth like that...he has the offence. That's why Sergei has that A on his arm..
Look, the reason why I would take Zetterberg and Datysuk over Malkin and Crosby IS because they are better two-way players. Sure, Malkin and Crosby might rack up more points, but I think you're forgetting the importance of great two-way centers. Zetterberg has totally shut down Crosby thus far, and it's because he can play D. If Pavel was playing, Malkin wouldn't have as many points either.

It has nothing to do with Gonchar. He can't do the defensive job by himself.

That was a pure dive. That weak "whack" wouldn't even take me down. It's part of the game.

Crosby is the Cristiano Ronaldo of the NHL. He dives, he whines, and he's made out to be the best player ever.

Thank you, and that certainly is my opinion. He'll never be as great as number 99 or number 9, and he does act like a bitch compared to those greats.

But our boys pretty much played their worst game defensively that I've seen in about three years in the playoffs. We were horrible in our own zone, we couldn't clear the puck well, and we basically looked like a bunch of tired defensemen. Babcock tried to switch the lines up but nothing worked out, so we have to go back to the drawing board.

Our players need to step it up now. Hossa, Kronwall, Franzen and others. It's been our deeper lines pulling us through, so the key now is to get our big boys on the score sheet.

It would help if we get our best forward back as well.

Well, next game is at the Joe on Saturday night, followed by game six on Tuesday and game seven on Friday. All games are at 8pm and on NBC.

Who is the greatest player in NHL History.

My vote goes to Bobby Orr.

In my opinion, he was the only player who ever created a seismic shift in how the game was played.

Followed by Gordie Howe, the greatest "two way power forward" in the NHL
