And lets not forget the Hawks have to start resigning all their youngsters next season. Kane, Toews and Keith are all free agents next year. Moreover, there are signs the cap will be lowered, so they can't possibly have all those guys along with Seabrook.

This really isn't the smartest of moves by the Hawks, I'm sorry.
I'm waiting for them to resign Versteeg, as well. I mean, as a former Bruins prospect, I've kept my eye on him, and trading him away for Bochenski (I believe) was just a ridiculous move by Boston.

He's an RFA, but Chicago needs to lock him down ASAP. Gotta be in the plans.

The panel at TSN is claiming that the Rangers have excellent ties into Russia, and they think the chances of bringing Valentenko to the team in the next 1-2 years are pretty good. Apparently, he wants to play in the N.

As for whether he's the second best prospect, I was definitely wrong there. I don't know your prospects very well, but I'm not sure why I keep forgetting about P.K.

Losing Mark Streit was absolutely massive. Also, 5 years for 20.5 M wouldn't look that bad (at all) right now.

C'mon Boston, lock down Phil.

Yannick Weber has been compared to Streit, and not simply because they are both Swiss. They both play a similar style. Who knows, maybe he wasn't ready at such a young age last year to be a power play quarterback, considering that he doesn't turn 21 until september. He had almost 50 points as a 20 year old rookie in the AHL, so that isn't too bad.

I just wish that they had another stay at home defenseman in their system.

Yeah, that's true. I forgot about him. He's very good as well, can't believe you made that trade.

Definitely nice numbers for Weber, I'll have to familiarize myself with him some more.

I totally understand, man. Stay at home D men are essential, as is that physical presence at the back. You boys need some size back there, ASAP.

Yeah, that's true. I forgot about him. He's very good as well, can't believe you made that trade.
Yeah, no kidding. 2007 was still a very dark time in Beantown...

Definitely a big time miss... although, coming up with a player like Wheeler, a fifth overall selection who we signed as an FA out of thin air... well, that certainly softens the blow...:D

Oh god, can this defense get any older.

    Spacek, Schneider, Hamrlik, Brisebois, Dandenault

I'm laughing so as to stop myself from crying.

    Markov's gonna kill himself

I have no idea Sergio. I was talking to my buddy Lip about this (Best friend of 25 years, hardcore Bruins fan - hugely informed) and we agreed that we never seem to hear anything about him. He's been tearing it up at Malmo for a few years, really. The Bruins are ridiculously deep down the middle (Savvy, Bergy, Krejci), and he's definitely a scorer. Not really sure where he fits in, at the moment. I wouldn't expect us to resign him, but what the fuck do I know?

I mean, we gave up Toivonen for him, which didn't hurt at all, but it would be nice to see what we actually got in return.

    3 years, 11.5 million

    I think I'm having convulsions.

This team is trying really hard to make me hate them. And to think I almost regretted cancelling my center ice subscription.

"Well, Mr. Secco, what did you do on your summer vacation??"

"I went to Montreal to sit in with my good friend Bob Gainey"
