Looks as if they are looking into Pronger's, Luongo's, Hossa's and Savard's contracts as well.

Its amazing how the NHL are looking at these deals, when the contracts do in fact follow the CBA by-laws.

That is the funny thing about this whole situation.

THEY are the ones that made the rules where the salary cap implication is the formula of total amount of dollars divided by length of years of the contract. These teams follow the rules, and now the NHL backtracks.

Its shit like this that will confine them to being the 4th sport.

It's pretty ridiculous, isn't it. Depositing a contract, and then revisiting it mid term makes the NHL look pretty silly. I haven't read the specific language in the CBA, but if shit like this is possible, there's obviously too much grey area.

I really don't think the legitimacy of Savard's deal should even enter into the discussion - he turns 40 midway through the final year, and still makes 1.5M as a 37 year old (although 525k for the final 2 seasons).

That Kovalchuk deal is ridiculous though. 6 years being paid 750k or less? Signed until he's 44? That's just silly. I suppose in the end, it all comes down to the specific language in the CBA.

Either way, reviewing contracts that players are already playing under is absolutely fucking ridiculous. The NHL should leave well enough alone, and get to work on redefining some of those CBA parameters.

By the way, I read through some comments made back in May, about the most pathetic, embarrassing collapse in the history of professional sports, and I must say that you gentlemen were quite gracious. Good on you.

I was drinking some very fine ale on the Thames when the shit went down, and luckily was flying to Prague the next day... otherwise the pain surely would have been even worse. As it was, I watched maybe 2 games after that, including the cup clincher... I was just too disgusted with my team to watch anyone play hockey.

Anyway, the hurt has finally subsided, and I'm getting pretty psyched for the season to start. Seems like all of the regulars on this NHL board saw their teams make some fairly interesting moves... can't wait to see how they all turn out.

Yeah, it looks like it's going to be another interesting season. I'm just hoping we can stay healthy.

Hard to believe we just have two months to go.

Well I can't defend anyone who sucker punches Steve Yzerman. He's my favorite non-bruins player of all time... I hope someone knocked that piece of shit fan out! That's just ridiculous. Never seen that one...

I still wish Domi had really gotten his hands on that moron...

    :juventus:

I always thought it was funny how some of the fans are holding other fans long enough for the Bruins players to get to them...

If there are any Yanks or Canucks on I need your help: I found this really old pic of myself wearing a LA Kings jersey with the number #23 on it. I had no idea who wore that number (must have between 95-97) so I looked it up and it's "Craig Johnson", apparently not a big player. Why did I wear his jersey? :lol2: The only explaination I can give is that I just wanted a Kings jersey and didn't care who wore that number.
