Please go back to the aforementioned trades and tell me how far in advance there were names thrown out there. Please do. And compare that to what is going on here. It doesn't matter if those proposals are true or not if the front office doesn't comment on it.

This front office has handled things very badly on this, in my opinion. They did nothing to quell any of these rumors. And the big difference here is that it is obviously apparent that this front office only cares about making Lebron happy. Were these offers made up? They didn't come from some random dude on the internet. They came from respected journalists who work for both teams.

But let's play this little game.

Let's say, in a pie in the sky world, the Lakers give up all their young assets and multiple1st round picks for AD. They then have the money to sign, let's say Kyrie Irving.

Who plays with them? A bunch of mid 30 somethings for the veteran minimum?

Would you take those 3 plus a couple of veteran minimum guys over what Philadelphia could potentially have for the next few years, considering they want to keep both Butler and Harris?

It's not even close to as good.

And let's not forget that we would have thrown our entire future away for maybe 1 championship. Maybe.

When the Lakers signed Lebron, my hope was that another free agent would come the following season to not only play with him, but these young kids as well. To do what Golden State did, which quite frankly is the best way to do it. But that is not what this front office is looking to do. Not even close.

And I think that any rational Lakers fan knew that this year was not going to be the year to be competing for the title. But what were expecting was a playoff caliber team where lebron and these kids would grow into playing with one another., and then start making a push next year.

Instead, it appears as if this whole fucking thing has now been sabotaged from within.

Love this trade. Bullock is perfect for the team right now. And his contract expires at the end of the season, so perfect for freeing up cap space if needed. We aren't making a move that's going to win us a title before deadline, but this will help us into the playoffs, and at least put a decent showing in. Much needed 3 and D, that Svi just wasn't showing yet, unfortunately.

Eh, i dont understand this. We have been praising Svi to have potential to be one of the best shooters in the game all the time. I think he has been playing well whenever entering the game (which was usually insultingly little time), but Walton subbed him out quickly after a few solid defensive possessions and 1-2 missed 3s. We gave up an asset for an expiring which was unnecesary imo.

But good luck to Reggie anyway

It's not about whether you'd rather have Philadelphia's roster. It's about having a little faith in the project, that regardless of what you say hasn't been blown up yet. It's about not losing it because we've been in a shitty half-dozen year stretch after a dozen years of unrivalled success.

That's good that Philadelphia has a good roster for the first time in 35 years. I'm happy for them. I'm also far happier that the Lakers have won 10 Championships since 1980, 5 of them since 2000. We'll always end up relevant, through some bad years and the draft, or through trades and free agency. We're always going to have far greater pull than teams in comparably shit markets with a fraction of the history like Philadelphia. They have to rely on terrible years and the draft to have a chance in hell at relevance. That's great it worked out for them this time, drafting Embiid and Simmons.

And I'm not of the opinion that we're going to hell in a handbasket here. Things are worrying, sure, but as I said, let's see what happens this season and through free agency before melting down.

He has potential to be a very good shooter, but not one of the best in the game... We can also resign Bullock, and apparently his cap hold is pretty low, so it can be possible while keeping max space available dependent on other contracts of course.

Bullock is young too, and clearly a superior player and shooter.

I had complete faith in the rebuilding project. You know this. Don't act like I had no faith. I was the one championing a youth movement for at least the past 5 years. And speaking of Philadelphia. Did they suddenly blow everything up? Did they not stick to their plan? I believe they did. And that is the part that is worrying me. We don't appear to be sticking to a plan, nor are we even the ones who appear to be driving this bus.

What i saw from him is really good. Only thing that was missing was a consistent shot, which cant come if you play so little every now and then. His fundamentals are all fantastic, he can handle the ball well and run the pnr. His lack of strength and wingspan prevents him to defend well when switching on bigger players, but thats a slight issue if he can shoot 38%+ from 3, which i think he can do.

Bullock is currently better yes, but we are doing what i didnt want us to when James arrived, sign older players to fit with his timeline. He was supposed to fit in here, not make us change the plan. But oh well, atleast the star kids are still here

Dude, Bullock is 27. He's not an older player to fit a timeline. If you have a chance to replace Svi with Reggie you do it every day. Dude is shooting 38.8% from 3 this year, and shot 45% last year.

That is just your opinion on it. The 2015 #2 pick in the draft became an All-Star. The #2 pick in the 2016 draft was rated #2 in a draft that was widely regarded as a 2 player draft that year. There is no question about that. It was either Simmons or Ingram. Ball in 2017? Yeah, I can give you that so far. He was playing a lot better before he got hurt.

Osman's opinion of young Lakers players is absurdly biased as always. Both Ingram and Ball have shown they have star potential. Now it's just about consistency. Both have improved a lot over the course of this season and will continue to do so if the Lakers front office, coach, and Lebron don't hopelessly bungle this situation.

But let's talk about a real bust of #1 that Osman claimed was a future top tier star just two years ago. 24 year old Wiggins. Shooting 39.4% this year. 11.75 PER. Regressing and getting worse by the year.
