Well done. Finally a one year contract :D
They have to fill that cap space with something. They are close to the salary floor right now, so unless another opportunity like this comes up where they can pick up some assets, then they will probably sign some veteran filler for a low deal

as long as they have enough space for next summers free agency, im OK with these signings
The floor is 90% of the salary cap for this year, which would be 84 million, so they have to get to that amount. Next year's cap is going to go up to around 111 million. So that would give them 27 million in cap space. Calderon's contract comes off the books so now that is at 35 million. Tarik Black's 2nd year is a team option, and if they don't take it, that is another 6.4 million. They will have enough for 1 max contract and another smaller contract next year

I loved Boban. He'll be a beast in Detroit.
Spurs are not doing well in free agency

backup for Drummond?
Yeah, but how many minutes a game can you expect from him? Drummond is an elite center. Possibly the best all around center in the game. That is a lot of money for a guy who might get 8 minutes per game

pop send him in d league nba better for him
Pop sends everyone to D-League from time to time. Danny Green came from there. J Simm and Kyle Anderson played in there too.

I didn't know what the offer was. yeah 21m for 3 years is a lot for a backup center. But I think they expect him to be great given his physical characteristics.
Spurs had a big man problem this season. Now they lost Boban and West, Gassol is 35, and Duncan is not the same player anymore. I don't know what the plan in honestly
