For the record those arguments are rather petty and based on personal biases we all have.
Right. And so is the Simpsons episode.

Well Jack, would you tell a Mac user off merely because he chooses to use a Mac? I believe that's the difference.
Would Andy tell a ManU fan off for no apparent reason? Probably not, that would be weird.

Actually he probably would, which is why I deem it petty.

I was more or so referring to the other links in which Linux users say "Fuck Mac users" because they like their Macs. As if the Linux users aren't themselves conforming to an anti-Mac/anti-Windows group.

    I just don't get it.

Why do you get so upset about American commentators who extol the virtues of Manchester United? Why does Jack hate Barcelona?
That's not even the same thing. We're talking about computers here. I'm sorry, but I'm not involved in suiting up my computer and putting it against another in some sort of competition. Maybe that's your thing, but it's certainly not mine, Martin.

Let me put it this way. Apple is trying to make their computers out to be something larger than life, very much like Barcelona is trying to make their club out to be something "bigger", mas que un club and that bullshit. And both are equally pathetic and annoying.

Why do people care about clubs, it's just football isn't it? It's because ultimately everything is cultural as well. And people care about culture.

There are idiots on all sides, yes?

Being anti-Mac isn't a sign of intellectualism any more than being anti-ManU or whatever else. We have our values and our tastes and we don't seem to care that our behavior is petty, did I see someone say "Inter merda"?

There are solid rational reasons to dislike Macs, which I've described to you in the past, and there are those purely based on taste.

So are there solid, rational reasons to dislike windows based PC's?

Of course, except there's no such thing as a "windows based pc". There's a PC running Windows.

Mac users are skinny because Mac's are more expensive and it is widely accepted that fat people are poor, which is why fatties buy Windows-based PC's.

Are they really? I've never heard Steve Mobbs say anything about their products being larger than life, so you'll have to prove that one.

Why do people care about clubs, it's just football isn't it? It's because ultimately everything is cultural as well. And people care about culture.
Unless you're an employee of Apple or Microsoft, why the hell would one care about the competition between the two? Let them worry about the competition and just buy whatever product you like more or think is better. So unless you're an employee of Apple or Microsoft, or really care about marketing, it's not like football at all.

I never heard such outrage regarding a computer company. When everybody and their whore of a mother were screaming, "Dude, get a Dell," I didn't see anybody upset about their dumbed-down marketing. It's all hypocritical.

You're just not seeing it, which is pretty weird admittedly. Post on a technical forum and ask people if there is something a little unusual about Apple's marketing, and about the cultural values Apple promotes. They might think you're trolling, but just tell them it's a sincere question. I'm not making this up, you saw the Simpsons thing, it's there. For whatever reason you're just not seeing it.

Lion knows it, Greg knows it, Jack knows it, it's not me on some weird crusade.

And as long as we realize that those biases are silly it's fine.

Well Jack, would you tell a Mac user off merely because he chooses to use a Mac? I believe that's the difference.
No I wouldn't and if the subject is brought up I would explain to him why in my opinion it was a bad idea to buy a mac.

Maybe I don't see it because I don't really care about Apple commercials. I care about the performance of the product itself.

So yeah, maybe I don't see it. But I don't care to see it. Anybody who buys products just because of a commercial are not worthy of my time, that's for sure.

If people such as Lion really have a problem with Apple, tell him to go bomb an Apple Store or something. I mean, if it's really, really, so much of a detriment to the world.

So if you don't care then why are you so fired up over threads like this? If you don't care about the ads, why would you care about the reactions to the ads?

    Would you bomb ManU?

You lot automatically think people who buy Macs are blinded imbeciles. I find it a joke people care so much about what products people buy and actually have some sort of movement against it.

I'll take one from the Dell loser and say, "Dude, get a life. Get a life dude."

    Would you bomb ManU?
    Sure.

Uhm, no it doesn't. And as I explained earlier, there is really no difference between "a Mac" and a PC on the inside, both are actually PCs.

PCs are not "Windows based", they are forcibly sold with Windows, there's a difference.
