thx! im watching it now. The first thang i notice is alot of moves. Moves i characterize unnecessary. It looks cool if ur foolin around with friends in the backyard, but its not effective. He rarely wins ground. Either he makes support passes or he dribbles himself into trouble. Yes he made som ok goals from distance etc, but who hasnt?

There is no way anyone can deny Babels dribbling skills. Not too keen on him, but you have to blind to not see his dribbling skills.
It's bizarre, right?

Dernthe is a very talented player and Real is just the wrong environment for such player.
I wholeheartedly agree.

Drenthe played one good youth tournament(which is already a few years ago) and that's all he has shown so far. He's been very poor for Real Madrid. Also, he's among the biggest idiots ever to walk the earth.
Dominic, we all know how you rate Dutch talents. Let's skip reading this post.

Sure. U know i have a gift. I can see pipols future. Therefor I can see if a footballer has talent enough to fit in Juves greatness. And my sixth sense tells me that Drenthe does not have the right abilities to go along with Juve. He lacks something. Its hard to put a finger to it, but it could the Madrid-spirit.

Ok Jack I might not seem too convincing here, its just that I really dont think hes the right guy.:) I honestly dont think hes good enough.

Oh really?? Please tell me i'm going to pass my Human Resources exam!

Drenthe is not Juventus material,oh cmon he's been outstanding for Real this season he dominated the left side when he played against us in the Champions League and dominated the left in El Clasico last weekend and was unlucky not to score,I would surely welcome Drenthe to this Juve side because he has got one attribute our current crop of players lack and that is pace to trouble defenders he can also cross, shoot, tackle one of the complete wingers in football at the moment in my opinion.
I agree Drenthe is a good player, but the bolded above is definitely not true. Drenthe had a few good games but overall he's been poor for Real this season. His decision making is erratic at best and he has no end product at all most of the time.

That being said, i believe that the lack of confidence in him and the fact he barely played last season is to blame in my opinion.

But Agger, heck yes, please sign him right away.
His dribbling is one dimensional though, you always know he's going to cut in.

I'm aclined to agree with Dominic on this one (especially the headcase part), even though Drenthe has quite promising raw abilities (so he can be nurtured to a quality player), but he has shown or proven zip and just cashed on quickly in his hype (he did very little in Feyenoord too, mainly average except few games).

Though that youth tourno he was MVP in wasnt years ago, but summer of 2007.

That's just bizarre you know.

@Canardo
A late game performance as a sub always gives a false impression. Especially for a pacey player like him.

Also it's the performances when he starts as opposed to those against those 2-3 sub appearances what's worrying.

I do agree with you on the notion that he hasn't proven himself yet Dom, but you can't say he doesn't have the ingredients to be a top winger.
