Correct! Very good point. The only but here, is the fact that these almost-top teams in Italy will sell their star players to mid table teams in the PL. IMO AS Roma is a much bigger club than Tottenham, yet a prolific player like Lamela is sold to Tottenham from Roma. And this is worrying. Financially Serie A is a lot of years behind, and the only way the PL gap can be shortened is by allowing foreign investors to enter the scene of italian football. The fact that there are so many "patrons" in Italy hinders the league from improving because these patrons can't/won't compete with foreign investors. Look at Fiorentina for instance; their fans must be heart broken by their spending power..
