This song is really from 1972 but I wasn't born yet by then and it reminds me of a certain summer in the eighties so that counts, don't it?

America - Horse with no name :star:

    not heard it

btw did you ever d/l new order - blue monday
    I forgot :embarass:

Here are the lyrics of that previous song, perhaps you'll recognise them:

America - Horse with no name

On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

After two days in the desert sun my skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

After nine days I let the horse run free 'cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
    And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
    [repeat fade]

HEBO - which is a 'European' education. Roughly a mixture between management, communication and languages (I get English, German and Italian at this moment - adding Russian or Portuguese is optional).

After I get my degree, I could be manager of a foreign branche of large Dutch companies (ie Philips, Shell, Unilever, KLM) or work in PR, at an embassy, as translator or have an advisory role at international companies.

I chose this education because it was so wide and didn't know what I wanted to do with my life yet. Still don't btw :D

cool, thats the best thing to do if you don't know what you want yet, gives you the options anyway, particularly management I was looking into that myself before I chose accountancy

Yes indeed! Why didn't you choose management then?

I will have to narrow things down at the end of next year though - I'll have to choose between 'Politics' or 'Business management' or 'Communication management'.

EDIT: so you're really starting work soon (september), right? How do you feel about that? I'm trying to keep studying till I"m 25 after that workplacement - student life is easy :D

I didn't choose management because, really I wan't sure if I'd be that good at it. For all the training you get you still need to have certain personality for the job, not sure I have that. Its always open in future though.

If you have to choose between those three I'sd have thought business management would give you the most options, is that the case?

I think I'm starting on September the 1st, dependant on me getting the grades they asked for and getting good references. I bullied them into providing nice references so that shouldn't be a problem. Provided I get the grades its early September. I'm actually quite keen to start, finally my money problems will be over, and then I can buy a car, and go out at least three times a week, and..oh the possibilities!

    Ok see you around!

That's the first song I learned on my guitar, and more or less the only song I can play to perfection.
