Juventus have announced that their plans to redevelop the Stadio Delle Alpi will see the capacity dramatically fall.
The arena currently holds close to 69,000 but Bianconeri plans to refurbish the stadium could see it drop to just 38,000.
The club have agreed terms with the Turin council to buy the stadium, on a 99-year lease, in a bid to develop the arena into a more fan friendly venue.
The Italian giants should conclude talks and file the necessary paperwork in order to close the deal for the Stadio on October 31.
Work should start in May 2003 and could take as long as two years to complete, but will definitely be finished for the Turin Winter Olympics in 2006.
The athletics running track will be erased while the stands will be brought closer to the pitch.
Although the capacity will be greatly reduced, Giraudo maintains that with the other projects built into the redevelopment, the club should actually double their normal gate receipts.
