Well he does have a point with the timetable. If God created the heavens and the earth in 7 days and if each day is like a 1000 years for us according to some Christian interpretation than the Sabbath should be observed every 7000th year.

    :oops: No I'm serious. If the correct interpretation is 1 day=1000 years, then the correct implementation of the sabbath should be resting every 7 millennia for one whole millennium. The fact that sabbath is followed weekly denotes the acceptance of the literal interpretation of Genesis.

    Well I was referring more to your second point, but yes, I think the Genesis-based justification of the Sabbath gives further weight to a 24-hour day interpretation.

    I still stand by that point. It's just arrogant to think that your god is the only god that exists.

    Speaking for myself, it's actually very important to think about the possibility of all these gods co-existing. Either all these gods exist, or neither do. I'd like to think the latter.

    But an atheist will ask you which gods' time are we trying to understand. Cos there are so many gods. 1 day in Brahma's life is equivalent to 8.64 billion human years. :D

    The sabbath is observed originally to honor Gods day if rest in our concept of time ! Now it is to honor the resurrection
