Koopmeiners also has a right to agitate for a move to a bigger club after having been promised a move months ago

OMG I’m a complete mark for believing that clubs should honour their promises and not backstab players at the last minute.

At the end of the day, this is how modern football works. Players and agents have a lot more power than they used to have. You and I might not like it, but this is how the world works.
Again, I never said Koopmeiners didnt have the right to try to force his way out. Just do it in a professional manner. Refusing to play for the club anymore to the point where the coach publicly comments on it is not professional.

Don't you remember how embarrassing it was watching Cancelo in preseason moping around before he forced his way out of a Juve? That's the kind of behavior you want to pay a record fee to bring in. You want to talk about contract negotiations with Chiesa, how do you think they'll go with Koopmeiners down the road? We've already seen what he'll do to get what he wants.

So everyone saying "putting Chiesa is the stands sets a precedent for future players," what does paying a record fee for a player who refused to play for his current club do?

U guys are arguing but the reality is that we have no fucking idea how both, Chiesa and Koop cases were really handled and it's just impossible to judge who is right for us. There is simply no way to say that.maybe Giuntoli is a Lil bitch who doesn't like Chiesa or maybe it's Chiesa who is money grabbing whore. Ee will probably never know.

Listen... the way I see it..its pretty simple

We wanted Koop, we put the money Atalanta wanted, Atalanta tried to fucke us saying "we will sell him after the game against Madrid" so we had a litle talk with Koop's agent and said to him "Its on you to make this happend" and... they did...

Now, is it "profesional"? probably not, but also Atalanta were been a jerk from the beggining so... karma its a bit$h...

...a player who refused to play for his current club...
just check how atalanta lined up against parma 4 days ago

apparently you have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. again, according to some at least semi reliable journos koopmeiners was promised to be sold this summer. and atalanta was actively sabotaging that. now they acted like they are shocked out of the blue and they just learned that koopmeiners wanted to leave. koopmeiners was an examplary professional until the parma game - and again, we don't know what happened behind the scenes

of course atalanta would have preferred a deadline day deal. but while sjw's can argue that it's legal, at the same time it's purely unethical. most clubs stop playing players that are being transferred to avoid injuries. most clubs don't come up with cheeky statements like percassi did ("selling koopmeiners was never on the table", what an asshole) while already having a gentleman's agreement with the player, and most probably negotiating a deal with juventus.

it was just a petty power play attempt by atalanta. again, you might argue that it is legal. yeah it is. still petty, unethical and unfair. you can of course keep defending them, nobody will stop you. you are very wrong though, regardless of whether it's about juventus or not

btw the same happened to pavard at bayern: he was promised a transfer, bayern started to be dicks about it, player stopped training, then got sold eventually. it might be shocking for some but when you break a promise, there might be consequences

Let's keep fucking around on this deal as well. Maybe Bayern or Real will come in and steal him from under our noses too.
like fucking always, years and years of penny pinching, negotiating 2-3M for weeks. Marotta, Tici and now Guintoli. Same fucking story. We can't just pay the fuckng requested amount and be done with it. Nooo, rather have goalkeepers and useless strikers earn 15-20M gross
