wats with the 4-4-2? i really dont mind it.We had creative players in that setup but they didnt play as a team.

many teams play with 4-4-2 and they as creative as u can get.

Howeveri agree with you Andy, with the current players we have ,we could give the 4-3-3 a go.Since also apparently serie B has faster pace than serie A, and the teams r actually attacking us not closing down and defending with 11 players.
So the counters r going to count.
We by all means do not have the players suitable to be successful with the straight 4-4-2. We have no playmaker sitting centrally to feed balls around the pitch and would be stuck using two defensive middies together, which as we have seen doesn't always work for Juventus.

The 4-3-3 will give us more weapons going forward and allow Paro to have a little more freedom to come forward, as Zanetti or Giannichedda will always hold in midfield and Nedved will be playing more centrally as well.

those r the biggest advantages of the 4-3-3.Whether we would have a solid team defensively is another matter and we would know that later.
When the team used 4-3-3 in the rimini game we came unders a lot of pressure and conceded. But we didnt have a traditional DM in the formation. So that could a reason

I think are problem against Remini wasn't defensively, it was not bieng able to break down their defense or create a single good opportunity.

the 4-3-3 that I put in, is IMO our best formation. It would mean that Paro is dropped from the first team, but I don't think it would be problem.

Marchionni works well in a supporting tridente so would palladino and del piero. we could create alot from those three and have nedved and Camo gige some additional support.
Camo is good enough defensively to take part in a 3 man midfield anyways.

    this is ur formation Vonam
    ----------------Trezeguet

    ---------Palladino------Marchionni

    Nedved--------Giannicheda----------Camo

    Chiellini----Kovac---Legro------Balzaretti

    --------------------Buffon
i still think that we would be exposed defensively. Also Camo isnt as effective in the middle.I remember in the WC, he was played there and just sucked.

I reckon paro should be there or even zanetti.

Yes he did, but in the world cup we had Gattuso, and De Rossi covering.

Camo is better defensively than Marchionni, if I switched the two, we would leave even more gaps in midfield.

He's pretty good goind towards the middle, much better than on the outside IMO. Camo's got all the passing range and also a good shot. He'd make a good playmaker.

But he didn't do well in the world cup.

And yes, the formation I put would increase the risk of lapses in defense, but the way that our opponents will play, there's more risk for us to run out of ideas and loose focus on the pitch.

fair enough, lets wait and see what ideas DD has for him.

anyway abt the formation, dont u think that with our current defense that we cant leave exposed ?We need to get the points and IMO we could grind out results without exposing ourselves completely.

juve should stick with the 4-4-2, against rimini we were beaten by out own stupidity (letting boumsong within 200 yards of a pitch) now we have zanetti and trez back from injury so del piero will have a world class finisher to team up with (nothing againts zalayetta but hes no trez). Zanetti is a solid defense first no nonesense mid and that should help becuase chellini and balzaretti like assist the to attack from the wings leaving us open to the counterattack

juve should start something like this

    del piero Trezeguet

    Nedved Zanetti Paro cammoranesi/marchionni

    Balzaretti Kovac Birindelli Chiellini

    Buffon

i would go for that, but with Boumsong there.Biri is no better at that position. And i think that, once he gets an understanding with Kovac, JB(boumsong) could do well.

And i would give camo his first start of the season, since marchionni didnt have much of an impact starting.

    I wouldn't mind seeing

    -----------------------Trez
    ----------Alex

    ---Nedved----Paro------Marco

    -----------Giannichedda

    --Chiellini--Kovac---Biri---Balza

    --------------Buffon

    I would like to see:
    ---------------------Buffon
    Balzaretti --- Kovac -- Boumsong --- Chiellini
    ----------------Giannichedda
    -----------Paro--------------Nedved
    ----------------Bjinov
    ----Palladino-----------Del Piero

I feel we will be very creative with such formation.

Tough game against Modena On Saturday.

Interesting to see who gets the nod in midfield and in the back.

When we played with gianni-zanetti we kept a clean sheet.Or for that matter gianni and anyone since paro came in the 58th minute.

And in the back we have zebina and Legro back to full fitness. Will we see some changes there?

I think Gianni should be there for most games and mybe we would see zanetti-paro for teams that r not too offensive.

abt legro and zebina, thats for DD to deal with. But after Boumsong scored last nite i dont think he should be dropped.

    Legrottaglie: “I’m ready”

“I’ve resolved all my problems and I’ll be available to play next week”. Nicola Legrottaglie is over his injury troubles and ready to return to first team action. “I can’t wait to play again, when the boss gives me a call I’ll be there to give my all”. Unavailable since before the start of the championship, the defender is looking forward to playing his part in the Serie B adventure. “It’s an environment I’m familiar with already. It wasn’t easy for us at the beginning as we still needed to adapt and get to know each other better, but after the first two games I could already see improvements. As long as we maintain our concentration and fight, our technical superiority will see us through”. Even after the Bianconeri’s flying start, Nicola knows there is no place for complacency. “We need to remind ourselves that it won’t always be easy, there are sure to be difficult moments this year. We need to have a mature approach if we’re going to overcome these difficulties, but knowing this group, we shouldn’t have any problems with that”. Legrottaglie is delighted to be back in Turin. “It feels wonderful to have returned to Juve, it feels like everything is new here, and not just the magnificent centre we have here at Vinovo. I feel reborn and I’m very happy. I want to get back out there and show what I’m capable of. I haven’t always fulfilled my potential here but I’m over the problems I’ve had in the past and I’m in great shape”.

With the decision of the CONI due in less than a fortnight, Nicola is hoping for a positive outcome. “I hope the penalty is reduced as we were severely punished. Relegation to Serie B is already an incredible blow for Juventus, starting out with -17 points is just over the top. We really didn’t deserve that”. Even if the penalty remains, Legrottaglie still believes Juventus can take top spot this season. “At the rate we’re going we can definitely make up the disadvantage, and with the quality we have, I believe we can win the championship outright. We just need to do our job properly and keep working hard, after that we’ll see what happens”. With Deschamps in charge, the defender is confident Juventus can achieve their goals. “He’s very relaxed. Everyone is working well under him, and we’re all very happy. He’s the right man to take us back where we belong”.

I wonder how can he help us, he will only cost us more conceded goals!

this is exactly right for me...u have wide attacking options as well as solid central midfield...and the forwards will have more space and time on the ball which is crucial for del piero to create magic...if nedved is put behind the forwards that makes it harder for Ale to control the tempo of the game...pavel should be allowed to roam free on the left and create crosses for trezegol who is DEADLY in those situations...just see the 1st goal against piacenza

Nedved can defend and create, he can help Zanetti and also creative havoc upfront, also try his long shots more frequent
