Why does everyone think Andrade is too slow? I think has been perfectly Ok, considering he is still settling into the team and the country.

Pace is not essential for a CB, as long as their positioning is good, which I believe Andrade's is. Also Criscito is quick and so can help cover if Andrade does get caught out.
Pace doesn't matter for a CB as long as they don't get caught upfield. Andrade has been too aggressive in the past few games. Criscito is excellent.

 @ ratboy....that really is lame
He thinks that just because I have a little longer hair than several other men, I must not be hygienic. That is an idiotic claim. So apparently, with this information and his logic, his fiance would be a "ratgirl" because she has long hair.

This guy must have an IQ of 75 or lower.

i dont want to see tiago as sub .. this guy didnt get his chance yet .. he is great just wait for him ..

i believe that criscito to be in the first 11 .. but nocerino no ..

even so he is very good .. one of our best players in the pre-season matches .. but am sure things will be different during the season

well this is how the formation looks like planning out for at the beginning of the season

    -------------------------gigi----------------

    ---zebina-------Andrade------Cristicio------chiellini

    ---camo---------almiron------zanetti---------neddy

    ------------------Trezi-----------Alex--------------

i didnt see the games but am hoping that Ranieri would play something similar to what DD played last season by giving both neddy and camo the freedom to roam all around the midfield and even interchange positions a few times. With the extra creativity from Alex and Almiron we should be more than alright offensively.
Zanetti should provide some good cover and if things are not going well Iaquinta, palladino with Tiago and Salihamdzic would provide very good options. Brazzo would be great cuz he provides more pace than camo, and that could be important towards the end of games that you need to turn around.

Defensively the most important thing imo for now the understanding between all four players and gigi. All four are good individually however they need to form some cohesiveness and time is of the essence im afraid.

the good thing is that we have fast full backs that could cover Andrade as he seems to be a bit slow paced and everyone here is hoping that meemo keeps up his pre season form

In the game against Milan last night I felt the team was set up quite poorly, in terms of the areas of the pitch we were closing down.

First, the forwards seemed determined to press the CBs. This made it too easy for Milan to feed the ball into Pirlo. We would have been much better with either Del Piero dropping slightly deeper to play against Pirlo leaving Iaquinta to close the defence, or we hust sit deep leaving the CBs to play the ball and make it as hard as possible for Milan to get the ball to their dangerous players.

The other main problem was how narrow the team was when we didn't have the ball. This resulted in it being very easy for Milan to find their full backs in plenty of space to get crosses into the box. Ordinarily it would be necessary to play narrow against Milan to try and minimize the space for Kaka, but he wasn't playing and so Milan had one less in midfield than usual, which shaould have enabled us to cope while still being able to be wide enough to close the full backs.

We either need to get the wide players to track the full backs better (I was particularly disappointed with Salihamidzic, since he is meant to be able to play at full back). Alternatively we need to start with the full backs wider to close down the space.

Since we did neither we usually had to wait for the full back to come out, by which time the Milan player had time to either cross it, or speed up to make it easier to beat a player.

Given that our CBs need some time to improve it is vital that we give them as much protection as possible, especially from cross balls which seem to be the main weakness just now.

i didnt see any games yet from the pre-season but i will see the Livorno game next weekend. But imo one of the important success factors for this team and any team in serie A is their pressure on the other team's midfield especially.
I hope Ranieri is considering pressure from the front and thats why he stressed so much on the fitness of the squad.

From what i know about Ranieri is that he will not focus much on the minor details defensively, i hope he changed that aspect as in serie A it will matter a lot.
