I tend to agree with Dominic but I am hoping that we won't end up relying on Almiron like we usually end up doing.
Too true, i'm afraid. Although that's where Tiago might come in and be useful by filling Almiron's role, albeit in a different way.

I can agree with that, but Almiron really didn't do what he should have in the first game. Nocerino, Nedved, and Zanetti performed well against Livorno and should not lose their starting spots. Since it is Cagliari and Nocerino is on a roll right now, I would like to see him start over Almiron or Zanetti. Against Milan or Inter... we will have to see how the season shakes out. I am not one to foam over youngsters, but Nocerino is already at a level where he is capable of starting on almost any team.

We have a good problem and it will only get better once Tiago finds his form. But, right now, I want to see Nocerino play against lower teams. He could be the best destroyer in the world in due time. Playing him on the wing, or sitting him when it isn't neccessary will only delay his development. Zanetti or Almiron can afford to be late substitutions in the Cagliari game.
I'd rather build some consistency into the team first, let the current first team play as much together as possible at first. Time is on Nocerino's side, he will get plenty of chances and playing minutes.

yep

Buffon

Salihamidzic - Andrade - Criscito - Chiellini

Camoranesi? - Nocerino - Almiron - Nedved

Trezeguet - Del Piero

Cagilari 1 - 2 - Juventus

Trezeguet, Nedved

I doubt Camo will start vs cagliari, as he said himself that he is only fit enough to play one half.

Why the rush to get Nocerino to DM?

Zanetti was excellent against Livorno and so should continue for the time being. Although Nocerino is out of position playing RM, there is no harm in him playing there to adjust to Serie A in a position where there is less pressure on him.

Nocerino has the potential to be great, but we don't need to rush him.

Edit- I agree with what Dom said.

Come to think of it, the tinkerman might not make it easy for the team to depend on one player; maybe a couple of players depending on the different line-ups he would implement. Anyway, Serie A is in need of his inpredictability.

True, but I think Nocerino is just as effective, if not more effective than Zanetti at DM. He was excellent in Pre-Season. I can't argue, you make a good point, but at the same time this is the perfect chance for him to play.

I don't think we would be rushing him. He is just as good if not better than Zanetti as a DM. He should see playing time against teams like this. His positioning, tackling, and presence is too much to have on the sideline. Zanetti is good, but he is a better roster guy.

I know we appointed him to please the fans with his style and persona, but I really don't think we need to be court jester.

BTW, does anyone think that Del Piero may not be capable of playing 90 minutes. I really doubt he has the stamina to play the way he is capable of for 90minutes week in and week out.

i tend to agree with tonykart here...i am of the belief that Nocerino is a talented DM..but not a winger..while i think he played well considering he was played out of position and it was his first serie a match..but that aside..he didnt really do what a winger was supposed to do..he lacked penetration and his crossing wasnt good enough...so imo he's just wasted on the wing..if camo is ready he should be back in the starting lineup

this is our first formation at the moment, i would like to see tiago and grygera in it. i hope ranieri will give more chance to palladino. but in january we need another CB and please sell legro, in june we need VDV or something to replace neddy, attack is good, maybe huntelaar in june. and another CM or CDM then we are great;)
