reason for gilardino is because he can play a lone striker with two players feeding off him whereas trezeguet seems to struggle being a lone striker.

Stuart, you know it won't be like that. Capello will use two central midfielders in Tacchinardi and Emerson.

Excellent! While possible at the same time.. I'm really hoping for that formation.

If anything it's a bit too adventurous with the likes of Oddo and Jankulovski as full backs and three strikers playing at one time, but it's the only way that Nedved, Miccoli, Del Piero and Trezeguet can all coexist without forcing one of them to operate in an unfamiliar role.

Just switch around Olivera and Nedved and we've got something going for us imo. The defence is way better than last year's. The midfield is alot more creative, the defensive midfielder can actually pass with fluency, and the two players flanking him are more imaginative and capable of creating chances than their predecesors imo (Camo, Appiah). With the four men in midfield capable of supplying the service they do goals shouldn't be a massive problem with Trezeguet ready to take the majority of chances that come his way.
