Capello has said that Zambrotta will play LB and Thuram CB so he'll almost definitely use a back four. Given that, this would be my formation:

Buffon
ODDO Thuram UJFALUSI Zambrotta
Camoranesi EMERSON Tacchinardi Nedved
Trezeguet Del Piero

Nedved would start wide left with a license to drift central.

If possible we should get a good alternative to Camoranesi because although he's a quality player when on form and one of the only creative midfielders in our squad, he's awfully inconsistent. I'd also like to see Gilardino join and start upfront alongside Del Piero but Capello has stated that Trezeguet will be our centre striker this season.

imo legro should be given a chance. and imo thuram wont get much playing time (if we get another CB).

I didn't get rid of Maresca, I was thinking realistically and I can't see Tacchinardi being sold or benched. Same goes for DP which means that Miccoli will miss out at his expense.
