The British don't seem to care about deescalating tensions - "Turkey has the right to defend it's airspace". This after deploying troops in Poland recently. What is wrong with the British government?
Isn't that like exactly what they should say to deescalate tensions?

What are they supposed to say tho? Turkey shouldnt be able to want to control their airspace?
This is where Turkey claims the Russian jets violated their airspace:

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...leeast/russia-turkey-jet-shoot-down-maps.html

Two miles wide, pretty sure a military jet crosses that space in less than ten seconds, yet Turkey claims they warned the pilots "ten times" in two minutes. That definitely doesn't add up.

What I'm really liking right now is the rhetoric from NATO leaders - Russia had this coming because they're bombing "moderate rebels" and backing Assad, while no-one mentions the elephant in the room, that Turkey is bombing the Kurds and allowing ISIS to smuggle people, oil and antiquities through their country, and probably is the main buyer of ISIS oil.

Erdogan thinks he's fueling his imperialist dreams, but Russia is a bear you don't want to poke.

Brittish airspace has been violated by Russian bombers before when they were duing military excercise and they went to far of their route.
Standard protocol is to send 2 fighters to intercept and make visual contact. Wich every civilised nation in europe does when this happens.

Turki shot it down above syrian border, because they wanted to, and because it was not in their airspace

Every american lapdog nation wil now offcourse try to claim it was in turkish airspace but that doesnt make sense

The fun part is the claims

Russia says it was well in syrian airspace, and turky come up with a 2 mile breach that is not an inwards trajectory

this all sounds like a planned provocation with Erdogan wanting NATO to step in for it's own interest

anyone else remember Abkhazia when Saakashvili expected Bush to help fight the Russians :howler:

Exactly. Unless Obama has suddenly had a few of his screws loosened, the US is not going to take on Russia. Miscalculation and/or delusions of grandeur on the part of Erdogan, I think.

And this is why Erdogan is going to fail

USA will never take on Russia in battle

1) If they go really wild, Russia has a vast armory of ICBM's wich the US wont stop, and while they lauch, they will return the favor and we are all dead.

2) Russia can hit any aircraft carrier group with nuclear anti naval missles (sunburns)

3) S-400 anti air around moscow cover most of russia and can knock down B-2, F117, F-22 planes

Russia cannot attack the US cause they grossly lack in numbers, but the past 2 decades, they've done very well in making sure they cannot be attacked on their own ground either
