Mind boggling how poorly constructed this team is. We can’t play any 2 striker formation because we don’t even have a 2nd striker. We also can’t play a winger based formation because we have no left winger (or any adequate backups).

The formation that seems to fix some issues in defense and midfield is a 352, but what do we do with Di Maria then?

I thought after quickly acquiring Di Maria and Pogba we’d move on rapidly to our next targets but we have done nothing since.

Di Maria can, Kean can, Chiesa is back soon and Kostic will be here next week. Is that enough or do you still count zero?

Kean: Stop it, Robee.
Chiesa: January soon? Season can be over by then.
Kostic: not an attacking winger
Di Maria: yes, but who do you play on the right then?

You count quantity I count quality. So until Chiesa comes back to his best, which may not be until 2023, I still count 1 winger.

He'll be back before january. Yes, Kean and if you want Di Maria on the left, despite Kostic, then Soulé.

I read zero but see 4; one of them who's still being named to leave (and be replaced) and a 5th who's probably coming soon. I count results, not preseason hysteria 3 weeks before the end of the mercato ;).

So before negativity kicks in about how the squad is constructed, I'd like to actually see the season kick off and the mercato to end.

Let's wait till end of the summer mercato as we have many days to go before the transfer window closes.

Its what happens when you for years try to build a team with no competent leadership and sound planning.

Until we get the coaching and GM decision making right, it wont matter who the players are or what their positions are.

I’m honestly not even being hysterical about todays loss, I’ve witnessed summers in which we lost all friendlies and ended up winning the title with 102 points, similarly a year later almost winning the treble. I’m just objectively looking at our options today which simply aren’t good enough.

Of course we wait until the end of the mercato but it’s concerning that after a great start we haven’t made any move since, mostly because we aren’t able to sell. And as of today, nothing indicates that we will be able to get rid of deadweight which in turn would allow us to get new players. So 1 week before the start of the season I can say I’m quite concerned :).

Are you trolling?

This team has on its roster only one player that can be truly effective as LW consistently, and thats Chiesa who is injured for months. Di Maria can do a shift there and cross in, but lacks the multi threat he would be on the right (where we need him the most) where he can cut in and shoot and generally do his playmaking centrally. Its why Chiesa works on right, extra ability to be inside forward. Di Maria played LW for most of 1st half vs Atletico after switching with Soule, and he couldnt find space to do damage because his defender knew its only one direction is likely going to go in that flank.

Kean is NOT an LW, far far far far way from that role. Soule has no bussiness playing in a Serie A club, let alone Juve right now.

Those result say nothing indeed but our squad itself is still under construction, so give it some more weeks.

I'll judge the current crop after they've played some menaingdul minutes. We also have Cuads to fill in on the right actually. I'm so used to seeing him at RB now, I'd forgotten him.

According to rumours a lot can happen: Arthur to move out, Rabiot possibly waiting on Monaco's UCL qualifier.

Arrivabene and Cherubini have moved quickly before; Bremer, Vlahovic and Zakaria were all very swiftly brought in. So let's wait and see. You're right there's a lot of work to be done. But the negativity I'm reading in here is over the top. Let's also be real and say this squad will still be far from perfect by the end of august; as will any squad in Serie A.

No, it doesn't. There are at least 2 with a 3rd one coming in a matter of days.

Same thing on the right for Di Maria but it's stereotype o'clock.

Kean is not a LW as Mandzukic or Morata weren't either. There are different ways to fill in spots.

You're in for a big surprise once the season kicks off ;)

Kean is shit, even worse as a LW. Soule is not Serie B level, let alone good enough for Juventus. Di Maria is here until the summer of 2023, and the same applies for Cuads - they're both on borrowed time. Chiesa and Kostic will potentially be our only options in 12 months.
