Yeah I'm expecting a few deadline week deals and then that gives us a 'they didn't have a full preseason' excuse in our back pocket.
Not that it's our fault, the football transfer market is totally bananas. Even post lockdowns etc so many players on the books at obscene pre-covid values which is keeping prices high af.
And the money in English football is so awful. They manouvered themselves perfectly into the 21st century but probably at the eventual expense of the sport itself. If calciopoli hadn't happened maybe Serie A would have stayed in a strong position but tbh I doubt we'd still be the number 1 league in 2022.
