Yeah I'm expecting a few deadline week deals and then that gives us a 'they didn't have a full preseason' excuse in our back pocket.
Not that it's our fault, the football transfer market is totally bananas. Even post lockdowns etc so many players on the books at obscene pre-covid values which is keeping prices high af.
And the money in English football is so awful. They manouvered themselves perfectly into the 21st century but probably at the eventual expense of the sport itself. If calciopoli hadn't happened maybe Serie A would have stayed in a strong position but tbh I doubt we'd still be the number 1 league in 2022. Without Juve Serie A got two Champions Leagues and still bailed hard.
I think our brand is quite healthy atm and Calcio is looking pretty competitive again. AA made it clear years ago we were going to adopt a strategy of opportunity and gouging rather than splashing cash and tbh although its frustrating its probably for the best. Barca are collapsing, the English bubble will eventually burst and meanwhile we've had some pretty u precedented success with this policy to keep our name up there.
As an aside I can't believe these twats who want to live in England instead of Italy, even if the pay is better. You couldn't pay me to live there lmao
Excuse this meandering post, I have covid

Of course compared to the real life most of us live in the money in calcio is also absurd, but in England it's like they're all on LMA Manager using the money cheat (naming your manager King Midas I believe it was
