For what it's worth, a VS guru that's apparently close to Allegri says otherwise - the club is not broke at all. When they want to spend, they do it just like with Vlahovic. The problem is strictly numerical - the squad is already too big and they don't want to buy before selling because then they remain stuck with unwanted players.
If someone leaves, then some else comes.
Yes we need to sell half of the squad to buy players. Incredible that we need de ligt funds to sign players.

It’s because we are broke. There won’t be any more incoming players until we sell De Ligt. And even then, we will penny pinch until the last day before bringing any new player in.

There is zero chance we sign all the players we actually need to complete the squad that’s for sure. I’m not expecting much from us this season - after the past two years of failure, I’m just going to expect the worse and hope for the best. There is not a lot about the club I like these days. Hope that changes soon.
Yeah I'm expecting a few deadline week deals and then that gives us a 'they didn't have a full preseason' excuse in our back pocket.

Not that it's our fault, the football transfer market is totally bananas. Even post lockdowns etc so many players on the books at obscene pre-covid values which is keeping prices high af.

And the money in English football is so awful. They manouvered themselves perfectly into the 21st century but probably at the eventual expense of the sport itself. If calciopoli hadn't happened maybe Serie A would have stayed in a strong position but tbh I doubt we'd still be the number 1 league in 2022. Without Juve Serie A got two Champions Leagues and still bailed hard.

I think our brand is quite healthy atm and Calcio is looking pretty competitive again. AA made it clear years ago we were going to adopt a strategy of opportunity and gouging rather than splashing cash and tbh although its frustrating its probably for the best. Barca are collapsing, the English bubble will eventually burst and meanwhile we've had some pretty u precedented success with this policy to keep our name up there.

As an aside I can't believe these twats who want to live in England instead of Italy, even if the pay is better. You couldn't pay me to live there lmao

Excuse this meandering post, I have covid

Of course compared to the real life most of us live in the money in calcio is also absurd, but in England it's like they're all on LMA Manager using the money cheat (naming your manager King Midas I believe it was ;)

Get well soon mate. Had it a couple months ago and it was far worse than I thought it would be.

Footballers wages are insane. How high can it continue to grow? What's it gonna be like I'm 10 years?

You want us to keep on making the same mistakes Tici made, eh?

Sell first, not because we need the money, just because it's the natural order of things. We'd be stuck with some overpaid pussies again.

The day Alex Sandro, Rabiot, Arthur and Ramsey are gone, is the day we start fresh and new...

Not sure what to say about this idea but ultimately i guess Hernandez will surely not be the worst option we could potentially get for about the same €40M-€50M figure that we need to anyway invest in a CB.

Hinting is one thing, we can't hold a player in reserve to sign at the end of the transfer window in case the diva leaves, and we can't sign the player beforehand in case the diva stays, because he's earning more than 5 players combined and will be central to any team.

Ronaldo should have put his request in earlier in the window. But then the transfer market is not linear, he might well have had no options he liked until United showed up later. Putting the feelers out for a move is normal in the market now but it doesn't always lead to a move. Ronaldo fucked us but it's not completely his fault, sometimes it just happens that the "dream move" (lmao) happens later on. By then we have much fewer choices.
