Contrarian opinion: selling MDL for essentially the same price we paid for him is short term thinking. He's a very good CB at age 22 and will become world class.

What is our aim here - to win championships or fiddle around with the balance sheet and play plusvalenza games?
If your aim is to win the league, would you not say replacing MDL with KK increases our chances?

Besides, keeping MDL for max 1/2 more years and then losing him for a lot less, or even for free in worst case scenario, is exactly short-term thinking. We need to become more sustainable both in our finances (yes, it's critical) and on the pitch, which we can't do with a player that is looking to leave.

we can

but we won't
This is the thing, I have doubts about how well we will spend the money.

My goal is to win champions leagues and holding MDL from age 20-30 helps us do that. It wouldn't be a disaster to sell him, I just think people are way too excited about selling him.

We will reinvest as always. I just hope we'll somehow end up with both KK and Bremer. KK is a must, while Torino HQ are like 5 miles away. Get on your fucking bike Bini and sort that shit out.

Negotiations for de Ligt have begun – in a good atmosphere! Salihamidzic is now preparing a 1st offer (but much less high than reported in Italy) which will be presented to Juve very soon. Chelsea are out as the player has made it clear that he only wants to join Bayern(Sport 1)

Akanji was woeful when I saw him this season.

He is brainless defender. Mainly just athletic.

Yeah no one should he excited about losing him. Too much BS about him not being quality enough, when 22 year old top CB is not someone you should be looking to lose.

Only reason its happening is cuz he is forcing our hand.

Otherwise we would renewed him and made him a big time core piece to build our ambitious future around with Chiesa, Vlahovic and Locatelli.

But we don't have the financial muscle to just shut him up with a big raise like the biggiest richest clubs would have.

We are on a strict budget, and have waned and decreased our competitive level in highest level past 3 years, to the point he feels he is better off looking elsewhere.

Ramadani in these days will bring to Napoli the offer perhaps of satisfaction from Juve for Kalidou

GDM

If this is true it means KK said yes to personal terms and we press on ADL. Hopefully he lost his passion for hating Juve, there's talk he just wants to leave Napoli and own only Bari

It all starts from his absurd wages and greedy agent’s demands correlated with his on field performances so far, it’s as simple as that.

* I think we genuinely wanted to renew him at a more fair wage that is more reflective of his contributions so far but which would have anyway still kept him as one of the very best paid players in the league and ultimately could have gave us room to maybe renew him once more later on and even increase his wages if he would’ve improved. Basically long term planning from Juve who indicated that he would be the center piece of their defense for years to come but that they need him to cooperate to keep the numbers realistic.

$$$$$$$ - What did he and his agents do? Aside from the fact they didn’t want to accept less wage money they then proposed that the main condition of renewing to be at a much lower release clause that would have essentially put Juventus in a position of potentially losing him for less than what his value might be in the future and without having any word to say against it or any chance of igniting a bidding war as long as whoever comes after him pays the undervalued release clause, or otherwise to drag us on a long term contract negotiation from which only one winner can emerge. Ultimate goal? This way agents and also the player himself gets to make even more money from a bidding war between the clubs offerring increased agent commisions and higher signing-on bonus to convince the player to join them once the release clause is met rather than allow Juve to have any power of decision and potentially benefit more from a higher transfer fee. This is something that would have put Juve in a easy to blackmail position which was rightfully declined and that most importantly pointed out to everyone the lack of commitment of the player and the obvious openness to sooner or later move away if something better comes up. - $$$$$$$

* Juve’s alternatives? Either let his contract as it is with two years remaining on exaggerated wages at the risk of potentially losing him next summer for at least 30% less of what we could get for him this summer or even worst be left with hands tied with letting his contract fully run out and lose him for free in summer 2024, because i guess why not, is probably better for any interested club in buying him to be paying an additional €10M bonus to the player to wait out for his preferred destination and another €10M to the agents to make sure he waits out another year to come for free rather than have to pay over €50M transfer fee with a year left on the contract, making it a worst case scenario that could even make us consider the earlier proposal of still losing him soon but at least this time on a release clause that would make us his hostage and that could see him leave when we least expect it or are less prepared to react to it, with none of this being ideal.

With all things considered moving him on now to the highest bidder is the most logical decision, so much so that we can use the extra funds to start properly rebuilding a more complete team from the core.

Would you elaborate it more please
