The results were there, but the performances were underwhelming. I didn't turn against him. I was under the impression we needed a new direction, and that maybe he'd run out of ideas and needed a new challenge. Are you his adopted son by any chance?

Italian talent isn't all that great right now, so we shouldn't be taking unnecessary risks and weakening the team in the process.
I'd give Dybala one more year to prove his worth. If he wouldn't live up to his hype/potential (regardless of either his own fault or the position he currently is playing) - I'd sell for Mbappe then.
Anyway, I think we will never get Mbappe - imo Real is just waiting for him to get bored by Ligue 1, chances are high this summer already.

Dybala is not 19 years old to wait for him to reach his potential. Imo, his potential is not fulfilled simply because he's forced to drop back and spread the play instead of being at the end of the attacking moves closer to the goal.
Secondly, he's often played as a right winger. He doesn't have his weaker foot developed, so the defenders easily close him down because he usually cuts inside or makes a pass with his left foot.
I think this is why he lacks goals and assists this season. Maybe he would be much more dangerous if we emulate Real Madrid style when they used to play Benzema as a second striker with Ronaldo.
