Matuidi is more of a b2b hustler, but his direct impact on defense isnt much, just aggressive running with occasional useful pressuring, but he doesnt tackle, intercept and cover a whole midfield like Kante does. Think Vidal defensive impact for us at his prime, thats what Kante does, Matuidi doesnt come close to that the way he plays.
