Rugani is one of the best young center backs around. 50 million is pretty much the going rate for such players these days. Stones and Laporte were even more expensive.

I hope we end up keeping him or at least have a plan to get similarly talented player in as a replacement (not many of them around though).

I agree with you.

But if we have no intention to use him, 50 is a lot for bench player. Specialy for a Italian player.

We all know transfers inside Premier league are insane. Rugani are better than both, i agree - but the difference is they actualy play every week.

You are wrong. Both lgor and i don't mind him, we just think it would be underwhelming if he's gonne be the only midfield reinforcement, and i doubt we are alone in that.

- - - Updated - - -

For every user underrating him, there is another user overrating him, just because.

I, for my part, am almost d'accord with what Enron thinks about him, the User who undoubtably has seen him more often than anyone else on here. But but stats!

This too.
I'm pretty sure you have called him mediocre or average more than once. lgor certainly has.

And the stats certainly do show that he's a better ball-winner than current incarnation of Radja who has, by ze way, also played in a team with a style that gives plenty of opportunity for tackles, interceptions, clearances. Radja has moved further forward on the pitch and focussed on attacking play, and he's done a decent job of it, but he doesn't have the energy and pitbull like tenacity he had a few years ago, and he's sacrificed some of the defensive aspect of his game for attack. Watching him the last two years, it showed a lot.

Nice of you to ignore that I said Can is not at the level of Naingollan and doesn't have the all-around game yet to be in that class of CM. Also ignoring that I said I'd like another top mid, and the plenty of times I've said that Emre Can alone isn't ideal to mock about "stats". :baus:

Depending on whats young. If we're talking 23 and younger than sure, just being at Juventus at that age is enough to make that statement. If we're talking relatively young I wouldn't say that, Rugani in his career is nowhere close to the likes of Varane or Marquinhos and I don't think he ever will be.

Rugani is mainly living off the hype he had before even getting to Juventus. Think about it, 50m? We could get de Ligt for that and he’s a way more accomplished player than Rugani.

How do you come to the conclusion that he is one of the best young CB around. He has shown very little in the years he has been here to justify that statement IMO.
