He is also vastly more proven. I am the forums biggest Rovella stan but i wouldnt go into the season assuming he will just be a starter
He should've been the starter going into this season, but management (or Allegri) decided they needed Paredes. Verratti is better than Paredes, but the logic/thought process is essentially the same. We have a good young regista whos been starting in serie A for years now. It's time for him to take the next step and start for a bigger club.

He should have been a part of the squad and gotten an opportunity this season

No the "logic" is not the same because verratti is not just slightly better than paredes

It is the same because he's blocking a younger (and cheaper) talent at the same position. He might be better than Paredes, but he's also older and pretty much a guarantee to miss more games. We had our chance with Verratti ten years ago or whatever. We blew it.

I'm guessing they will either extend Rabiot or sign Frattesi.

So then were looking at

Rabiot or Frattesi
Locatelli
Pogba
Fagioli
Rovella
Miretti

That's six, which is usually the number they carry. And that number doesn't include any next gen players that could break into the squad at some point next season, ie Nonge
that's six indeed, but miretti is b-list/u22 so an other one can be easily added. and i think we absolutely should add one quality mid to this list: rabiot won't stay, we can't realistically expect pogba to miraculously leave behind the ever worsening injury record of the last few years, so it's loca who's a more or less established player, the others are only talents who can't be expected to perform and carry a team on a weekly basis. so yeah, we need at least a starter, otherwise we'll have the same conversation.

btw if we have to gamble on a dwarf, i'd take a good look at this one instead of verratti:

Leafy? Boy seems to like his veggies.

We should get the Thuram Bros. One is free, and the other one will be pricey, but fuck Newcastle anyway.

The Koala Vulture Hybrid Midget can stay in his golden cage @ PSG.

Juventus are already without Matias Soulé (called up by Argentina for the U20 World Cup) and are Now set to lose both IlingJr and Fabio Miretti Both could be called up by England and Italy U20s respectively. (@tuttosport)

Pau Torres has a verbal agreement with Juventus. He will be the first signing after the Bianconeri negotiate with Villarreal. The player is pushing for the move, he really wants Juventus. (@LaStampa)

Cristiano Giuntoli is the 1st choice of Juventus: a first positive meeting occurred a 1.5 month ago with Scanavino in Milan. Max Allegri is pushing for his friend Giovanni Rossi (expiring contract with Sassuolo), for launching him as coach at Aglianese.

Or we could just tell them no, we won't release them. Like Man U did with Garnacho to U20 Argentina.

weak physically. Who can win the ball back? Miretti, Fagioli and Locatelli are all slow as Pirlo

Big question is where do we have the funds for Torres?

It still hugely depends on Mckennie and Kulu's sales or maybe even Vlahovic idk

I think we're more or less back to the 'we have a €4M budged' days
