Inconsistent? He's had a major injuries this season but still managed to score 13 goals and do 6 assists in 28 games. Previous season he played 34 games and scored 20 goals + 4 assists. And his average playing time per game was 64 minutes.

I wouldn't want to sign Icardi, not as a priority signing anyway, but I find it hilarious how people shit on him he did such a great job at Inter it's crazy. But now everyone speaks about his spell in Paris while he managed to score goals there too, but sure, to a lesser extent.

I completely agree. He is not my first choice for a striker by far, but if we can get him on a good deal, especially on loan with an option to buy... We should grab it, unless we can secure someone else as a main goalscorer, which I'm all for.

The goals were distributed equally but look at the names: Dybala 19, Mandzu 10, Pogba 8, Morata 7, Khedira 5, Zaza 5, Cuadrado 4, Bonucci 3, Evra 2, AS 2, Lemina 2... Do you have midfielders now capable of scoring 26 goals among them? I think a Dybala-Morata-Chiesa attack (even with the subs) isn't capable of giving you 50 goals next season, and the midfield won't be good enough to make up for it, like it was in 2016. I might be wrong but let's see, we might struggle with goals next season if Ronaldo leaves, and depending on who arrives

Halland or Mbappe aren’t coming here. Milik is subpar. Id love Vlahovic but that seems to have cooled off a bit. Icardi is the one who makes all the sense.

He’s a difficult character and Wanda doesn’t make things easier, but there aren’t that many cheaper options out there. Atleast with Icardi you get someone who is a proven, experienced goal scorer.

Let’s not ignore his ability infront of goal due to his issue off the pitch. It’s a risk worth taking i think. Maybe do a loan with no obligation at first?

1. He will come with some transfer fee, even if it's offset with another player moving in the other direction it's still a player we could've got cash for and due to his age his value will go downhill every year to the point of no resale value in ~4 years
2. At Inter he was outcast as a bad apple by Marotta, who we know is a reasonable guy

Pjanic won't impact that, unless he scores like 5 FKs. And Pogba won't come. Our current midfield, plus the rumored additions (Pjanic/Locatelli, one mezzala), will not be able to produce 20 goals among themselves. We will need big seasons from all of Dybala, Morata, Chiesa, plus either Kulu or whoever we sign instead of Ronaldo. Let's see but there is no reason to be optimistic

Literally every time someone mentions Icardi you go on and on about how amazing a signing he would be. And every time someone praised Morata you go on and on about how trash he is.

He had 7 goals in about 1300 minutes in league and CL which is absolute trash given he plays in a far better and more creative attacking team than ours. Icardi in front of our shit midfield would be god awful

Morata had 20 goals - 12 assists in 2823 minutes this year. A goal or assist every 88 minutes. In his past spell here, since Dusan likes to count 5 years ago at Inter for Icardi, so I guess we should do the same for Morty he had 27 goals- 18 assists in 4679 minutes. A goal or assist every 104 minutes. And with coming up clutch in almost every big game for us that period.

Icardi’s best season /minute was last year with 20 goals - 4 assists in 2185 minutes. A goal or assist every 91 minutes. His best season as a starter with bigger minutes was 16-17 with 26 goals - 7 assists in 3426 minutes. A goal or assist every 104 minutes.

So... not sure how our 28 year old is somehow worse?
