that is the problem, Zenith wants to recover as much as possible from the 40m they paid, rumours are, at least 35m.
And since Witsel earns a shitload of money and is a starter, he doesn't really feel the need to leave.

stop this already, been 7 years or something, guy didn't do anything (big) wrong anymore since then.
Come on Zach, he was used as AM at Standard and played very well there, scored a lot of goals, was ever present, one of their best players when they won the title.
Went to benfica, was also one of their best players and was sold to Zenith for huge amount of cash.
At Zenith, he is always certain of a starting spot in a team that has the money to easily buy a replacement if he wouldn't do, so he can't be that bad.
He just isn't used correct for our NT due to the lack of tactical skills from our coach.
Nainggolan now starts, but he is the b2b while Witsel is used as the holding midfielder, which isn't his best quality, give him a b2b or even AM role (like Vidal had), and I am sure he'll do good.

3-5-2 is worthless. We cant counterattack. Our transition are so slow and predictable. You change the Team to suit everyone till certain point.
Then you start to look options like James in Madrid /masherano in barsa/lahn in bayern... You try different option... You know what I mean or maybe you think you know more Futbol than ancelotti and Guardiola

If there's actually something behind these Witsel rumours,
no doubt he has technique and masters the short passing game required of an AM (and he is no AM but since we're lacking one if he comes he might play there occasionally),
my only problem with Witsel is that he desperately lacks pace, and that's not going to cut it in the UCL when we play the top guns and are going to be a counter-attacking team basically.
If any of you have seen United play in the Premier League this season, they have the exact same problem with Juan Mata. He is basically coming in from the wing and beats his man, but he lacks pace and can't push the ball far enough after that and is too dependent on short passes which severely halts their efficiency in the final third,
Witsel and Mata are two different players, but I see some of the same problems with both of them pace-wise, and this Juve team needs that if we want to actually improve and not just equal the level of the Vidal, Pirlo and Tevez days.
Now, if he's coming just to play the CM position I really don't see the need for another CM with Sturaro already on the bench and Khedira and Asamoah returning soon (knock on wood). On top of that Marchisio is coming back as well.

All we need is a CAM i doubt marotta can bring in a top player marotta could have made better decisions about khedira , zaza he could buy a good CAM instead zaza and khedira unwise decision, considering that we could have signed much better alternatives, like veratti draxler we sold vidal and still cant buy a good replacement for him!
