Solid? Wow that's unfair. The kid is a top talent doing very well for second consecutive year in Serie A. Last season he was the best assist man in the league along with Dybala and Vasquez. 10 assist and 15 goals is very good and in the previous season he pulled off very good numbers as well.
Nobody knows if he turns out to be WC that's impossible to say he will or not and take it for granted.

He will score 3 goals in a game, then pick up a few yellows or a red, get suspended, then maybe score another 2 goals in another game, and his disciplinary problems will resurface again. That is what I mean by inconsistent. You can't count on him to deliver regularly, and that is for a team like Sassuolo. His numbers are inflated because he is playing for a shitty team. If he were at Juventus, it is unlikely that he'd be scoring goals for fun or providing as many assists. I don't doubt he is a good player, but I have serious reservations about him becoming world class.

In regards to serie A players younger than 21, he's got the best numbers for the last 30 years (probably even more, I didn't count it prior to 1985).
He's got 48 goals+assists on 58 matches. The closest to him is Alexandre Pato with 43 g+a on 77 matches before he turned 21. In comparison with some serie A legends, Del Piero had 24 g+a on 53 matches, Totti had 25 g+a on 88 matches, etc.
Staying clear from injuries, I don't think there is a risk of not making it big time for Berardi. He scores AND assists, unlike, say, Pato, who got his great number mostly from his goals. The only two attackers we had in the last 2 decades who both scored and assisted that much were Del Piero and Tevez.

As you and I said, amazing numbers from such a young player. Easily the most exciting young player in Serie A and the most exciting Italian player in years.
I like that we aren't giving into their ultimatums regards making an offer by Sunday or making an offer of 30m. Marrotta is right in evaluating the player as a buying club, but a negotiation that starts with an asking of 30m, and a first bid of 15m, is likely if it comes to fruition, will perhaps end up in the middle. That is assuming the club are entirely convinced on his injury problems and I'm not sure we are.

Vidal is a very unique player in that sense. He gives you the benefit of almost playing with an extra man, that alone nullifies the argument of a formation as far as slotting him in is concerned. While we lose him, the emphasis will shift to a slightly more fluid attacking talent that will change the way we play and somewhat reduce the impact of Vidals departure but not entirely nullify it.
I don't think we can question Berardis ability, although yes, temperament plays a huge role in making the leap to a big club. Some players don't make that jump in their head and struggle with the pressure. I think though Berardi would make that leap, assuming he keeps his head screwed on straight and stays injury free.
