2) Draxler assumption: 25m transfer fee for 5 years worth EU4m NET per season. EU5m in amortization + EU7m in gross wages = EU12mpa.

However, Sandro could be a 15m acquisition with 3m NET wages = EU8-9mpa.

Defence wise we are the same
Midfield we had Pirlo and Vidal (although Vidal is still our player he is surely be sold to Bayern) lets say we get Draxler or even Gotze We`ll have Khedira Gotze instead of Vidal Pirlo which I`m not sure is such an upgrade as Pirlo is a master in creativeness and amazing free kicks who can decide a locked game
No need to introduce Vidal who is simply world class
Khedira is good but he is not world class
while Gotze is good but its not like we getting the next big thing in AM... Also Draxler is far from finished product
Forward wise - Tevez Morata changed to Dybala Morata or Mandzukic Morata depends on how good Dybala turns to be.. anyway I doubt he will be as good as Tevez has been for us...

The loss of Pirlo is important from a tactical point of view. This required players like Marchisio and Pogba to shift more towards defensive duties given the style of play. The system worked in that Pirlo provided a lot of creativity from deep.

There are not many players that have Pirlo's characteristics.

This means that the creative onus moves further forward (in keeping with most other teams). We currently have nobody world class in this area. If you shift the creative onus further forward, the style of play changes dramatically.

I think if we did land Gotze and Sandro, the team is very strong - although very different. Hard to say whether it is better.

If a player like Gotze did come along, you could see him playing behind the strikers together with Dybala (4321) and the mid 3 would be more defensive, thereby allowing the front 3 more freedom. Pirlo's absense may also mean that someone like Pogba or Marchisio could make more forward runs as Pirlo was at times a bit of a liability defence wise.

Vidal is a huge loss and I would have proffered he stayed. If it was up to me I would have held off purchasing Zaza and focused on just getting an AM and live with the deficiencies at left back.

Yep, every purchase we make is spread (amortization) over several years in our income statement, depending on duration of the contract.

We'll play much better and faster without Pirlo.He scored only 3 FK's last season.and he would not be better this season.
He's a legend but it's time to go,and WE ARE BETTER without him imo.

the loss is huge ofcourse BUT,if i compare last season attack to this one:
Tevez(29)+Morata(15)+Llorente(9)+Matri(2)+Gio(2)+Coman(1) = 58 goals.
This seasons IMO: Morata and Mandzu will have 20goals each in average.Dybala will have more than 10,Zaza will score more than 5,Coman will add few.
So,you get a more balanced attack,not heavily dependent on 1 player(Tevez) and in summary scores more.(i predict 60+ goals combined)

Vidal loss is big but the mostly on the defensive part,and here i thnk Khedira,Sturaro and Asa will all step up and cover.
Miedfield of : Pogba,Marchisio,Khedira,Pereyra,Sturaro,Asa + Padoin. is still a VERY good one even without Vidal.and one of the best out there imo.

If we do sign a high quality AM and a LB.
If Isla sold then RB also.

Then i believe we'll be a better team,more creative,faster team.

well first of all i haven´t seen many people around here talking about a "fantastic mercato" .
you have some valid points but imo @Roman did a good job explaining the whole thing.
furthermore, you have to consider that we brought down the average age quite a bit. which was a huge task for this (and maybe the next) mercato.
finally, you have to factor in, that our hands were kinda tied with tevez demanding to leave. no easy task to replace him.

btw., imo it doesn´t make much sence to discuss the mercato now. we will see at least two more players and got some selling to do.

furthermore, you have to consider that we brought down the average age quite a bit. which was a huge task for this (and maybe the next) mercato.
finally, you have to factor in, that our hands were kinda tied with tevez demanding to leave. no easy task to replace him.

That we've got a younger, hungrier, faster squad. Pirlo had a poor last season here.

Marchisio is an upgrade.

Tevez is a huge loss, but we've got Dybala who can take over. And even if he can't our overall attack is improved.
Llorente, Matri and Giovinco is replaced with Mandzu and Zaza - definitely upgrades.

The mercato is not even over yet - Vidal might even stay as of now, we can't tell - let's hold the evaluation of the mercato until it's over.

I agree that we have better depth and we could be faster without Pirlo but Pirlo is surely not a liability
He organizes the game and Marchisio as much as you love him isnt Pirlo in this aspect so yes it will be a huge loss in that aspect
Also as I specifically wrote I meant in the next season and not future seasons... and only starting 11... in terms of being better we need:
1. Marchisio to do a great job organizing the team - (would be ok but I dont expect him to be Pirlo like on a consistent basis)
2. Pogba to be consistent and help Marchisio as well as go forward shooting and passing (this could happen)
3. Dybala to perform near Tevez level (very doubtful about it)
4. Morata to play at least at the same level (This I can see happening and even expect better)
5. Khedira to be at his best ever form so he could try to make up for the defensive loss from losing Vidal (Dont think there is someone who can do Vidal`s job as good or near as good as Vidal does)
6. Our so called number 10 should it be Gotze Draxler or whoever comes.. needs to be a revelation and up his game (the big question)
With all those happening I can see us being a better team
Without those you can kiss CL final goodbye

As for future seasons yes I agree it could be very important but could also backfire
