why you dont want to understand what im saying. here is an example. Allegri wanted Berardi here to try him as a trequartista. is he a central AM? why did he want to try him as a trequartista? because he thinks Berardi has the characteristics to play that position. Vidal and Pereyra both were playing AM for us this season. they both arent central AMs either. point is, its not about what your position in you current team is, its about what characteristics as a player you have and what role you are playing. your problem is that you limit players strictly to what position they play for their current club without taking into consideration how they would be used here. Arda would be a great trequartista for us. if you disagree, please tell me what does he lack to play there. the fact that he has the ability to play wide would make our formation even better and less predictable, as we would be able to rotate around during games with him, Dybala and Morata (4-3-2-1, 4-3-3, 4-4-2 etc.). that was something we used when we first switched to this formation during Pirlo/Vidal absence and when Pereyra was playing AM this season. Arda has the right characteristics to fit into this team.
now about your assumption that Isco is better. Isco was indeed great for Malaga, but that was few years back and that was Malaga, a different team to both this Atletico and Real. if Isco would succeed to be the main creative source for a top team that is challenging for CL every year is yet to be seen. Arda has already proved that he is capable of that, but Isco is 23 so he still has time. and ofcourse Arda would start for Real. in the 4-4-2 they used under Ancelotti this season, he would simply replace Isco on LM. its foolish to believe Isco would start over him if they were in the same team. Romagnoli: No Milan, yes Juve

Alessio Romagnoli’s agent said he won’t join Milan because they’re out of Europe, “but if Juventus called then Roma could let him go.”
The defender has just returned from a loan spell at Sampdoria, where he worked under new Rossoneri Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.
There were reports of a potential reunion after increasing tension between the player and Giallorossi.
“Romagnoli to Milan has a big obstacle and that is the Rossoneri’s lack of European competition,” agent Federico Cavalli told Sportitalia.
“If Juventus called, then Roma could let him go. He wants to play in Europe.”

Would Jojo qualify as a low cost AM? Or are we talking Saponara? 
Good point about it dragging on for a while. I think the longer that position remains open for the number 10, the more it would indicate that we are perhaps waiting to sell one of Pog/Vidal. Given how quickly we've moved in all other positions, I'm guessing we'd only wait on AM if we were working on an expensive one. Jojo for example could close sooner than the rest.
