Danijel Luketa. He was on trial with them this summer, and I believe he signed a 1 year contract. Unfortunately, he got injured at the start of the season so he hasnt played much, but I'm hoping he'll do well.

He's 21 and he's a striker.

Yeah, he had a trial for Racing Santander last year, but didnt make it there.

If he makes it big he'll have to make me his agent or something :D

Ah, but Friesland has .... erm ... horses .... and er ... seals :undecide:

Jebus. Couldn't he have gone somewhere nice in Holland at least? MVV Maastricht or former powerhouse Fortuna Sittard? At least those places have style :D

Good point. Well, if he shoots himself in the top five of the top scorers chart; he'll be in the Eredivisie in no-time. Strikers are wanted.

I'm hoping, but I'm not that optimistic actually. He's pretty injury prone, so that might hamper his career significantly.

Ah shit. Well - the dutch second division isn't too rough and wages aren't too bad either so he could do decent.

I agree. You have to understand, it's not easy to get into a first division club in the top european leagues. For every player playing there, there are 10 in the lower leagues and 50 that never made it that far.

So, if he were to play in the Erdivisie for a few years, that wouldnt be all that bad.

Yeah, the Eredivisie is currently the 7th league of Europe according to UEFA's list of co-efficients.

There's no chance we'll ever be better than Spain, Italy, England, France or Germany (it's impossible, let's face it, they're way too big for the rest of us) so we only have to tolerate Portugal ahead of us. Not too bad.

And I hear Cambuur are doing some major restructuring that should get them back in the Eredivisie in three seasons time at maximum so who knows; he might get there even if he doesn't get a transfer.

Plus, the relegation/promotion system in Holland works with play-offs. Even if you finish 7th in the second division you can still get promoted. Cambuur won't have to work miracles.

Cool, sounds good. His dad made him worl really hard as a kid, so he has the discipline and character to make it. His dad was a perspective player in ex Yugoslavia when he was young, but he never took his career seriously, missed trainings, stayed up late at bars, etc.

So, he tried to correct his own behaviour on his son. So, as far as the mental aspect is concerned, I think he's good.

Oh he could excel if he has a real fighter's mentality. We Dutch are no good at that kind of thing. We're notorious for our "laissez faire" mentality.

That's why we always lose to the Germans in the last ten minutes of the game. The Dutch players are walking around on the pitch, thinking: "Yeah alright, we're 3-1 up. Ten minutes left. Then I can go home, get a beer, see if the misses is interesting in some bedroom gymnastics... Good stuff. Hey, wait a minute, why does the scoreboard say 3-3 all of a sudden?"

    :D

Yeah, we just don't really give a crap...

Which reminds me, I gotta go do the dishes. Used them all up. I need plastic china. Just toss it out when you're done. Good stuff.
