Definitely not going to the extent of saying welcome Jovetic. my heart says Tevez, but even the arsenal guys at work who were sure of signing Higuain only last week now recon he's Juve bound, whilst odds for Tevez to Juve have now been put on the market again and ever increasing
Yeah, but do you think we'll manage to sign one of these? I can't get into Conte's mind and find out what is his intention. Does he want a SS next to Llorente? Will he consider Llorente a starter or will he advice Marotta to go for Higuain? Even if it's just a hunch, you and Melo were good with those hunches. You two have a better guess ratio when it's about transfers. Tell me who do you think we'll sign for the attack so I can put a symbolic 10 euro bet on it.

Nick, you can also tell me who we'll sign, so I can bet against it. Mark and Janna too :howler:

The 30mil tag on Jovetic was used. Well, Llorente's was 36. Same arguement...

And no, 109 goals in the last 6 seasons is not prolific ? Okaaaay.
And i'm sure you know why that 36m figure came up despite him being in the last year of his contract ? What exactly are we arguing here ?

I think Conte would prefer Tevez or Jovetic to Higuain, i certainly think Conte sees llorente as a starter, but even i have my doubts of the compatibility of a Higuain and Llorente partnership, and i wouldn't be surprised if that is Conte's reasoning in his preference. lets not forget we have been chasing Higuain for 2 summers now before we even made contact over Llorente, so i don't think it was ever or even the intention to have the 2 together, at least not in Conte's mind.

who we'll actually sign? well God knows with marotta i never trust him to catch our actual targets, the fact that Agnelli himself has been getting involved discussing transfers with other club directors doesn't fill me with confidence

Of course ;). It was a response to another non-arguement. Forget it. Jovetic ain't worth 30 mil at this time either. But I do expect Fiorentina to budge in contrary to Bilbao.

I agree with everything.

But help me out, it's just a symbolic bet. So, Jo-Jo, Tevez or "someone else"? With Nick being convinced now that we lost Jovetic, I'm leaning towards betting on Jo-Jo.

if i were to actually put money on this, i'd probably put it on Higuain, but even that i'm not so sure just with what's been happening the last week i would say he is most likely then again next week is another week and the status quo will probably change again

If Beppe cant buy these high profile names,he should simply look to sign emerging talents(before they become too expensive).I've been saying this for months now ,someone like Muriel would be a very good purchase and a very good investment for the future.I can definitely see him becoming a success here,we have a good team,a good system and good players all around you, what more you need.

When we purchased Diego, there was no clear identity in the team,no proper system ,too many weak links and there wasnt a coach who couldnt get the best out of your players either.I'm only mentioning this cos people fear of the failure of unproven entities/or players who are not yet world class. But there are more pros than cons to suggest that young talented attacking players can succeed here.I wouldnt think it as a big risk or a gamble in my opinion.

Atleast they are way better than mediocre stopgap purchases with little to no resale value. We should be thinking that route than simply wasting time penny pinching on big targets when its clear we cant pay top dollar for them.
yeah, after 3 years, you would think that marotta should've gotten some talented youth in striker departments, but he didn't, he keep bringing CMs... that's another proof of some serious flaw from him

The 30mil tag on Jovetic was used. Well, Llorente's was 36. Same ($#@!ty) arguement... We should just wait before overreacting right now...

the main argument against llorente is that he is more like your peter crouch, jan koller type of player than the ibrahimovic one; seeing how bad vucinic and giovinco (+matri and quaq) when serving as SS, what make you think llorente will easily banging goals for us?

The fuck are you talking about?

Don't comment or spread bs if you haven't seen him play before. Which you clearly haven't.
