Just because you don't like, it doesn't mean it is disgusting. That's such a stereotype, a disgusting habit... Trust me, there are moments when a cigarette can taste as good as anything in the world.
I don't think you know what disgusting means. If it disgusts me, it is disgusting. And believe me, living with smokers will drive that point home stronger than I ever imagined.

Btw to clear up Jack's point. It's the most disgusting commonly held habit.

I don't find it disgusting at all.

Did you ever try smoking?

I meant try, as in drew one smoke, not doing it regulary. You should try it, maybe you'll like it. :D
I know this is beating a dead horse, but did I mention it's disgusting? Knowing that, why would I want to try it? Do you actively try things that disgust you?

If you never tried it, not one smoke, ever in your whole life, how can you judge it? How can you know it's disgusting? Smoking a cigarette yourself is quite different than inhaling smoke as a passive smoker.

it must be better than passive or else you would be retarded to smoke. I used to hate the cigarette smoke, but over the years i've gotten used to it, and it doesn't annoy me any more

I didn't say it's disgusting when I smoke, because I never have. It's a disgusting habit that people have, because it affects me when I'm around them, and in most cases they don't give a shit.

That's true, in fact I'm less offended by it now than I used to be let's say a year ago. But that doesn't explain it away, you can get used to anything. In fact, when I left my house to go visit my parents for a week, and when I came back it was almost a shock. Being away for a week had completely neutralized me from "being used to it" and once again I felt what it was like when you're not used to it.

I mean seriously, you can get used to small amounts of other poisonous gases, but that doesn't make it okay. To take an extreme example, even in the gas chambers in the concentration camps, if they had been increasing the concentration of the gas very very slowly, people wouldn't even have noticed a difference in the air before they started coughing and gasping for air.

Took you a whole year to figure that out? :D
Actually yes, it did. Previously I'd thought that parenting had a lot to do with it, but I also thought that a child's natural temperament and miscellaneous genetic factors also contributed a great deal to a child's overall disposition. But as I looked at each trait in children (both the brats and the well-behaved ones), I could see more and more that it all came down to the parents. That became especially apparent when I met some of my students' parents :disagree:

I think smoking's disgusting too, but I can say that I've tried it a few times, but in the end decided that it wasn't for me (and much too expensive to keep up too!). I can personally say that I do try things that may seem disgusting at first, because I never know if I'll end up enjoying it. Case in point: Rare steak. There's no turning back.

Ok, maybe comparing beef and tobacco is a little unfair, but you see my point.

Yes and I am glad I quit, it is disgusting.
When I started dating with my gf, I immediately told her she needed to stop as soon as possible, everytime we kissed, it tasted as if I was kissing an ashtray, disagusting.
