He won't go anywhere, they'll kiss and make up eventually.
Agreed.

I really think he's extremely underrated, for me despite his rash nature which gets the better of him at times, he's one of the best center backs in the world.
I don't know about that, but Real Madrid really messed up by playing Pepe with him all these years.

If he'd been given an appropriate partner, rather than having to be the mature guy trying to hold things together, he would looked much better and far less rash.

I don't recall Ramos having many of the issues he's had at Real Madrid when playing with Pique for Spain, for instance.

But I wouldn't have had him in the Juve team much over the last several years. I rate Chiellini higher than him and you couldn't play Chiellini and Ramos together without running into similar problems to what Real Madrid have with Ramos and Pepe.

are Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini enough?
No maybe you could add Ogbonna and Rugani, perhaps even Caceres for good measure :shifty:

Bonucci had a good season but he isnt in Ramos league as much as I know most of you will disagree. Chiellini when on form for me is better, perhaps even Barzagli but both are still debatable imo, not as clear cut as you guys are making it out to be.

I also think those three will not look as good playing in La Liga.

I agree that he shouldn't be the composed partner of any pairing, i also don't think him and chiellini are a good pairing. But seeing people here make it look like Ramos is nowhere near the likes of Chiellini and Barzaglis level is taking it way too far. You could say they're better, but even if they are its pretty close.

And I say this in every discussion about centre-halves:

You have to separate them into different categories.

You have one set which is personified by the likes of Thiago Silva.

You have the other set which is guys like Chiellini and Ramos.

I dont rate any of the German defenders that highly to be honest.

I agree.

To bring an example which I've been seeing week in week out is Koscielny. For a long time he's looked like a joke tbh, but lately when he's been paired with Mertesacker he's actually looked very good. He's benefited hugely from having that composed, disciplined presence to compliment him.

Look around the best centre-half pairings and you will almost invariably see one of each type of player (and having the right balance can allow a good pairing even if at least one of them isn't a great player).

Was great watching Aberdeen's pairing last season because it was nicely balanced for the first time in years. Oddly for a Scottish team, we'd had too many Koscielny types and we finally got the big, dominant presence we needed to play with one of them to take a big step forward.

Gab Marcotti still brings up the Miller-McLeish pairing from the 80s Aberdeenteam when speaking about getting the right balance in a pairing. McLeish was the big guy to go and win the ball. Miller was more a Baresi-style of sweeper/centre-half.

Certainly not over here he isn't. People here will have you believe he cant start for juve when honestly he'd start for every team in the world right now.
Over the years in this forum, you got to know by now, that Tuz has a special way of rating players. The players before they sign for us are lousy, once they sign for us becomes World class, especially when it comes from foreign leagues.
The recent ones would be a comparison of Tevez,Morata or Evra before they signed for us and after.
So go easy on this ratings from fellow Tuz

Barzagli and Bonucci is way ahead of Ramos it's not even fair to compare him with them. I rate Ramos higher than Chiellini tho.

Tevez was a mess before juventus, Morata just a kid and Evra finished

They all played alot better at the end of this season compared to a year before.

bad examples

Fred is a typical EPL fan though. :D

He still thinks Chiellini is our best defender.

Bonucci has reached a level Ramos never will Fred, sorry.
I think you got that the other way round to be honest. Anyway, only a Juve fan would say Bonucci is better than Ramos, that should tell you something.

Ya, these things are natural in any forum though, and I always say this, believe me this place is a lot better than the Arsenal forums in that respect :D

If you really think that, then you obviously don't know much about my opinions.

Look at my past few posts on this topic, when I refer to Chiellini, I say when he's on form. Because lets face it, even if Bonucci had a better and more consistent season, Chiellini when he's at his best is at a level that Bonucci will never reach.
