But lets be honest here who would not want Torres' finishing skills on their team? They're better than Drogba's, better than Zlatan's, and that is all that matters in the game, right? Putting the ball in the back of the net.

As an asset and weapon and scoring machine, Torres is the best quite frankly.
Wouldn't think twice before picking Torres.

@Alen, do you also believe Drogba is a better player than Eto'o overall?

It would depend on what formation/style I was going to play and what other players I had at my disposal.

As a finisher, there is no doubt Torres is better.

That's going as my sig, lest anyone ever forgets what is important in life.
But seriously, it all depends on the preferences when we all argue here. You and I almost always prefer the same football styles, we prefer some qualities in a footballer or the style that others don't. And vice-versa. We're right and wrong at the same time and in the end most of the discussions and fights are about the preferences.

With time they'll understand that we were right and it's not always about fancy moves. But then we won't accept them in our group :D

How about taking this whole debate from a different angle.

Who would you pick for this current Juve team?
If i were one, i'd choose Torres without a doubt.

If Eto'o had an overall, would it be Eto'o's overall?
Good point :p

The best out there right now, quite frankly.

I'd have him spearheading my attack whether I field 4-4-2, 4-3-1-2, 4-3-3, or 3-3-1-3.

Overall they're at similar level. Drogba would do better in Inter or Chelsea than Eto'o. He won't do better in Barcelona.
Fair enough.

I feel I've missed out on a vital part of juventuz life by agreeing with you on most things.

I would've liked to take on the challenge of dismantling your stat based arguments.

What is the current Juve team?

You are asking whether I would prefer a Trezeguet upgrade or an Amauri upgrade?

I would keep Trez as the poacher and get Drogba as the target man.

Bah, I don't count Osman. I mean, Osman!!
And I certainly won't count Aaron.

Red's opinion is what always counts.
No player has ever proven me more wrong then Torres has, ever. Despite seeing the explosive skill, I have never found anymore more overrated, choker, pussy, loser mentality then I did Torres in Atletico, he stagnated completely and seriously looked like he would go down the fizzling Tamudo path or such in his career (big fish in small pond) despite his talents. He was just too annoyingly underwhelming with them as time went (perfect example for the over used word choker).

If you check what poeple said about him when he was signed by Pool, I can gurantee you that you will find overwhelming majority said he is risky and very overrated, he was the posterboy for inconsistency, the talent that never grows up. I tended to be more harsh then them.

So, FYI, I'm not praising him out of habit :D Not at all, totally evolved player with Pool (like any inhibition went away over night, everything clicked, and he went and total predator mode and never stopped since), his highlight with Atletico was allways fucking Barca royally, and virtually only them, and in style, but since he left Atletico he plays he faces Barca all the time((on the contrary with Mr PoPoPo, I ADORED Drogba in Marseille, he loioked Zlatan-esque there, totally amazing, but he dissapointed me with Chelsea, first seasons was like a shell of what he showed there).

Eto'o isn't some great finisher either. We're not talking about a guy who scores from every 0.5 chance.
More like a guy who scores from every 5th chance.
Thats true. But the same goes for Drogba really. I think Eto'o is still the better finisher, he just needs service much more than Drogba needs it.
