Seriously, this has to be the silliest argument I've witnessed here since sometime.

Andy can like Barcelona's style of play, just like I enjoyed their performance tonight, I like to see Chelsea winning in England for example and Bremen in Germany does it make me Bremen fan or Chelsea fan because I prefer them to no matter what English/German team they play? Get over it.

Andy has all the right to enjoy their performance just like 90% of the forums if not more enjoyed their performance tonight. If you make Andy a barcelona fan, then please make me too and you might add Ze Tahir to the list and etc....

At last but not least, who are you to judge and say who this person supports?

Yes, what's your point?
That it is just fine to enjoy beautiful football. I think you've figured that out.

This is why I asked him to tell me about the elements which could make him a fan of a team. I'm sure there had been some more attractive teams at the time he became a Juve fan. Why didn't he choose them? Simply because even for Andy it's not only the attractive football which matters. He keeps contradicting himself claiming that he's only cheering for beautiful football though and that's why I brought Juve to this.
That's a a completely different issue.

When I was 14 years old I saw Mickey Owen score a wonder goal in the world cup. About 2 weeks later I found out we had a channel that got his games. I fell in love with his team. Now my favorite team is Liverpool. I still like to watch good football.

It's not contradictory to like good football. Even if your team plays poorly. I think everyone can respect good football. Where having a favorite team is so much more... what they stand for and all that.

Could it be Andy is a fan (a relationship more stronger) of Juventus and he likes (in term of a "light" relationship") beautiful football. IMO, those are two differents kind of love: you don't love (like) your friends in the same level you love(like) girlfriend/boyfriend

I'm trying to understand this
Yes. It is exactly that. And the less mature members of the forum seem to need to castrise him for that. Because they are so wise and Barca doesn't exist.

Why are some people here always cheering for Barcelona, no matter who they play against?

I hear Forza Barca against Bayern, Forza Barca against Chelsea, Forza Barca against Valencia, Forza Barca against Real, Forza Barca against Manchester.
it is called teh Maher-effect

Hmm, that doesn't make much sense. If they were truly gloryhunters, it wouldn't be just Barca they'd cheer for. Manure, Chelsea, and other sides would receive praise. So your point is de facto invalid.
like i said, the maher-effect

One man's irrational opinion is another's reasoned response. Andy has really good reasons for hating ManU apparently, but someone else showing the same attitude towards another team is just being silly.
 this really is a silly arguement, but i can see both sides here. Andy must realize that they feel for Barca the way he feels for Man U,now the fact that neither can see any good in a specific team and their way of football does not eman that someone who appreciates them is suddenly a fan of that team.

though it does beg the question, how can a fan of Calcio love expressive,free-flowing,all-out-attacking football?

I hate Spanish football.
forza catenaccio?

Yeah.

Actually, all this had a very silly start. Yamensbs said Forza Barca as he says almost everytime Barcelona plays. So i asked why do some people (i didn't mention his name on purpose) always cheer for Barcelona, with which i was indirectly asking him if he is also a Barca fan. (and being a Barca fan isn't a crime)
But Andy somehow thought that i was talking about him.

Then i just had to play that game. :D

Bah, the fact that Fabio Cannavaro in few weeks have as many replies as Spanish league in whole season just shows how interesting and breath-taking that football actually is. Incompetence is interesting in short period, but soon it gets boring.

Nothing's starnge about it. I don't like Milan, Inter and Manchester no matter what. Andy dislikes Manchester no matter what.
So i don't understand what's so strange about me disliking Barcelona no matter what.

But liking Barcelona no matter what implies that you are their fan or at least that you have a soft spot for them.

Now Andy and Fred both said that they won't like Barcelona if Barca plays shitty. Barcelona played shitty football last year but Fred still says they made some sweet moves and i know for sure that Andy was cheering for Barcelona against other teams last year even though Barcelona didn't play this breathtaking football.

Maybe calling them fans isn't appropriate. They don't love Barcelona the way they love Juve/Arsenal, but i feel that they have a soft spot for Barcelona and they had it when Barcelona played bad last year, just like they'll have it if Barca plays bad next year.
You see, you're making your own assumptions here.

Barca were poor last season but they were still entertaining. Contrary to popular belief, the two are not mutually exclusive. For example the 2006-2007 season, we played some of the most breathtaking football in Europe that season, i remember us playing almost every opposition team off the park, but we were wasteful, inconsistent and had a shit defense. Now we were poor overall that season, but we were damn entertaining.

The same could be said about Barca last season, sure they were inconsistent, sure they were contained by teams that parked the bus, but their short passing football is always entertaining, more so when its effective, but even when its not, i like watching Messi, Iniesta and Xavi pass the ball around.

He said Manchester way of passing throughout the pitch makes him vomit. So, if Manchester players pass the ball beautifully Andy will call it disgusting but if Barcelona do the same Andy will call it beautiful. It's not being a fan of beautiful football for sure. Neither for Andy and nor for Fred. Real used to show a very beautiful football at the time they had Zidane and Figo in their team but Fred says he hate them no matter what. Manchester is playing very beautiful many times yet Andy hates them. It's all okay in my opinion if Andy is a fan of Barca. In fact, what's wrong with this? But to say that he supports them because they're beautiful is a lie.
Yes i do, but i still loved watching them in that period, and i used to watch them week in week out, because i love beautiful football.
