Sorry but byron moreno was a cheating cunt and nothing more, he had no skill or talent which is appreciated. Maradona like every other footballer in existence have 'cheated' at some point, take Thierry Henry vs Ireland for example but at least they had talent and skill which should never mask over their flaws.

Henry is a good comparison. Ask the Irish about him. Skill doesn't mask cheating, it's still the same. But I saw Maradona interviewed by Lineker and he said it wasn't cheating, just being clever and streetwise. That's the difference you see in mentality between South America and England pre-foreign influx, those things are part of the game in SA.

Ridiculous to think that every English tabloid paper isn't going to show his "Hand of God" goal when it's a legendary moment against the English national team, so much that it's in the English vernacular. That image is one of the most famous in English football history. If you want to read it from the Argentinian or Italian or French perspective then read their tabloids. Let's not pretend that the Italians wouldn't have gone apoplectic if he had done it against them. They were ready to send him back to Argentina when he scored in the shoot-out in 1990, and Ahn never played in Italy again after his goal in 2002.

Anyway, let's not move focus away from Maradona as the great footballer, it's not about what he did against one country.

Fuck Ahn.

That was a much deeper cut than anything that happened in 1986, because it was as if people sat around a table and decided South Korea should go through.

As for the rest, of course they should show his Hand of God goal. It was one of the two most famous goals he made.

The English aren't concerned, even Gary Lineker is firing shots but England would've won every tournament they entered had it not been some villain be it Maradona, Ronaldo or their very own Beckham.

People will argue that today's players are peak fitness but bear in mind that back when Maradona was doing his business today's red card tackles were not even a yellow yet he was magnificent. You wouldn't be able to take the ball off him had he played today.

Also, those from Asia will know that when Maradona was on people would come from all the neighbouring villages to the house of the one guy that has the black and white 14 inch TV and literally climb on top of each other to see him play.

They were literally just throwing their bodyweight at him studs first.....

It's the one thing young kids from the Messi-Ronaldo generation should understand. Back in the day this sport used to be BRUTAL.

Being skilled meant that every time you used your abilities against a defender there was always a chance a brutal tackle would come your way. Maradona got his leg broken. Pelé got beat to a pulp in 66'. Referees would turn a blind eye and just tell them to get up, shut up and keep playing. Fans would actually get mad if your defender didn't stop the attacker by any means necessary. That was their job.

I'm not trying to take away Messi and Ronaldo's credit for all they did. Talent wise I think they're just as good as all the other legends. It's the breaking records, the amount of goals, trophies and the consistency that doesn't make sense. Sure fitness plays a part here but it can't be denied they play in a time defenders are afraid to do anything a little more physical for fear of being sent off quite easily. Forwards today have way more freedom in terms of how they can run past the whole team and nobody will go for his knees.

As you said, without the violence Maradona today would not be stopped and would have just as much goals and trophies as Messi-Ronaldo.

That's not true. Gynecologists aren't proctologists.

And despite what you've been telling your wife for years now, there is a difference, you know.
Oh, I know. Both have biological as well as recreational purposes. That doesn't mean you question why the profession exists.

So the Daily Star lol. Absolute trash. All I know that paper for is trying to look at titties when I was 11 years old. Now it only prints wind up stories or nonsense, I guess people still fall for it though.

There's nothing wrong with what the Mirror wrote.
Serious 34 years of butt hurt. Worse: it's that lame historical revisionist mentality that believes if you revert one play the entire match would swing in their favor.

England would have still been losers without that goal.

Asia does not sound fun.
Depends on your tastes, really.

They posted a video of him scoring against us on Twitter I think
A FK, yup.

We could use that same mentality against them...

Their only WC trophy wouldn't have happened if the linesman hadn't given the goal that never fully crossed the line.
