IMO they did the right thing. I would have liked a loan with an option to buy, that way we could return him if it didnt work out. They practically wanted to force us to buy him. What if he wasnt right for us. He had a pretty bad season in Chelskea, and 12 mil € is too much for a player you arent sure will perform.

Italian newspapers believe Chelsea have now asked for Juve to pay his entire wages during the one-season loan spell and fixed his price-tag to make the move permanent at £7m.

thats from channel 4, the camoranesi injury report

When a player really wants to go you cant make him stay. He could just play like shite, stay on the bench, and collect his 5 mil € salary for the next for years. I dont get why players complain about not playing, I'd be more than happy to get lost of money for not doing my job :D
There is something called professional ethics...maybe you dont care about, but many football players do care about......;)

Too bad
I really hope that something gets fixed for our transfer campaign, it is not working at all - I am starting to feel it is a conspiracy from all the other clubs against Juventus :(

Mutu wants to play in Juve, he said so in Gazzetta... Hopefully Crazy-Roman will give up in this one (like he did with Crespo and Veron) he can afford it...

Apparantly, Moggi said that he wont try to reopen the negotiation with Chelsea. He also said that it wasnt Juventus who asked for the player, it was Chelski that offered him to us. He aslo said he was prepared to get Mutu, but only under our conditions, a year loan with an option to buy. Chelski wanted a permanent deal right away, and he wasnt ever going to accept that.

JUVENTUS END INTEREST IN MUTU
Saturday 7th August 2004

uventus' general manager Luciano Moggi has revealed to skysports.com that their proposed move for Chelsea's Adrian Mutu is dead.

The proposed loan move for Mutu fell through on Friday after both clubs failed to agree terms of the deal.

Mutu has now returned to Chelsea and it seems the Romanian will start the season at Stamford Bridge.

Moggi revealed Chelsea offered Mutu to Juventus and Chelsea's terms saw the move fall through.

"The deal would only be done at our conditions," Moggi told skysports.com.

"I want to say that we never asked for Mutu, it was Chelsea who proposed him to us.

"Yes we want Mutu, but it is not our pure priority.

"We wanted him on loan, with the option to buy him next summer. Chelsea said no, so we stopped the deal.

Moggi also revealed Juve will not try to rekindle a deal and will stick with the squad they have at their disposal.

"No, because as I said it is Chelsea that won't send him on loan, and we do not need him," added Moggi.

"He is not a priority for us, even if he is a great player.

"It is no problem we will go ahead with our strikers."

Meanwhile, Serie A new boys Fiorentina are reported to be planning a move for Mutu.

The Viola are looking to bolster their attack and they could offer Mutu the chance to return to Italy.

So we still need a striker... I understand Moggi perfectly in this one, and maybe Mutu is too similar kind of player with DP and Micco...

Sports.it, on the other hand, are saying that everything isnt over. They say that it was Abramovich who insisted on the full transfer of Mutu in a year and ona clause that Mutu couldnt play against Chelsea. Apparantly, Mourinho consideres Mutu nothing but a problem. They believe that Abramovich will stand down next week and agree to Juve's terms. Moggi has also asked to be given to Juve, stating that Juve s his only destination, not Fiorentina.
