Society as a whole is incapable of the level of responsibility that is needed to consume drugs properly. A close friend of mine got involved in drugs. She was 15. Its been two years since she got into it and when I returned from college I hear from people that she now lives on the streets. Most people would understand what she's doing to support her habit.

Does she know that its a bad idea to let men use her body for drugs? Im sure she does. If she had a choice to change her life would she choose to do so? You bet. Can she just give up her habit, go get that GED that eluded her and start working toward a normal, healthy secure future? No.

Thats why we have government. We cant expect people to take care of themselves.

Exactly, sorry to hear about your friend, I hope it works out alright. I know a few people in similar situations.

People are too quick to say things like, oh why dont they just stop?

I mean really does anyone believe its so very easy to quit drugs? You cant just click your fingers and everything is okay, your body gets used to drugs, in a sense it becomes like water or food, you need it otherwise the body thinks something is wrong, which is why withdrawal symptons are so bad. Most people NEED help to get off drugs, they need it badly, but what doesnt help is when someone is going through "cold turkey" as the state is called. They can forget all that, they want it so bad it physically and mentally hurts them alot. I would say in 99% of cases its impossible to get off drugs on your own.

I lie, cheat, and steal too much for my liking. You could not even count the number of times I have lied to my parents on the various fingers and toes of the entire population of London; not terrible lies, but lies nonetheless. Gotta stop doing that. I have smoked weed several times, however that is the only drug I have ever used. I only smoke cigarettes with friends, and I don't plan on doing it any other time than at a bar. I don't drink as much as, say, Burke, however I am starting to. And that cannot be good. I have slept with girls before but never with guys. I have a tendency to push people away from me instead of becoming closer to them (most of the time), whether it be just friendships or love relationships. I'm not sure why I do that, and it's probably one of my downfalls. All in all, I'm just as fvcked up as the rest of the lot.

People want to "experience" it, but theres a cost attached. You might come out unharmed, like Dave Chappelle, or you might come out permanently harmed, like Sergio (I know how you lost all that weight you whore! Dont lie to me :D ).

People dont understand the cost of the "experience" unless they experience it first hand- unless they have an aunt whos died of aids, or seen someone's parents succumb to the lifestyle's effects.

You cant adequately explain the feeling of trying to quit. I broke things when my nicotene craving hit me once.

Of course but it also doesnt mean they should be castigated or condemn for wanting to try something new, or denied the help they need at the end of it.

I dont castigate them. But I do know that what they'll do will only come back to haunt them. They're just too stupid to realise it.

In a way I blame society and the government. If you protect people too much, they want to swing the other way. They need to be exposed to reality to understand.

True this is the whole, "excitment" about it. Like if you lived in a perfect society then people would want to "live life on the edge" and experience something memorable. its just that the highs from drugs are something you try again to get, but the more you do it the less they become, and you eventally try to use more and more to experience that same sensation again, but it never happens, before you know it, you cant stop.

Why did those people start taking up drugs in the first place? It was their choice to start doing drugs. Why should I need to know what it's like to be on drugs, do you need to try shit to know it tastes bad?

IMO people who take up drugs are looking to escape from themselves. They want to feel something else and be someone else, because they are insecure in themselves. Thats how I see it anyway.

Why shoudl i do drugs. I like myself the way I am. I dont need anything else to help me be cooler, or have more fun, or be like someone else. I'm secure enough that I am self sufficient.

And I never feel bad for anyone who dies of an overdose or a drug related problem. Their choice, their proble, who the fvck made the do it.

great post !!:thumb:

Alright Nicole.

I lie, I cheat and I steal. Ive ruined my mums life since she found drugs in my bedroom, Ive been sick on my dad on purpose, Ive slept with girls, Ive taken too much of to many drugs, Ive smoked cigs out of ashtrays, Ive done naughty things in bed, Ive verbally abused cops, Ive ran from the cops, Ive said nigger to more than one black person, I generally do really hate people for simple reasons and never forgive them like I hate vinman and I cant stop hating him. I have a real fvcking problem when it comes to leaving things best unsaid. Ive seen it all, I was here first, so I dont accept others opinions. I have a smoking problem an attitude problem and I really cant stop taking cocaine. Im completely and totally fvcked right up beyond repair and I cant really do anything at all because im far too busy feeling sorry for myself.

Whatever though. I still think im pretty cool.

you should really use that energy towards something positive

I have a message to all these lovely little people who deem themselves to be of greater value than the rest of us for their appareant mistake-free past and who seem to think they possess the right to judge other people:

**** off. Who the hell do you think you are? God himself? You're lucky this is an internet forum, in real life, I'd bite your ****ing heads off.

Oh, and one more thing: if you haven't made a certain mistake you SURE AS HELL do not know why anyone else would make it and there is NEVER one universal reason why people do certain things. So you can quit your stereotyping, generalising fingerpointing right there. I expected better from you, Zlatan and Josh, than to suddenly generalise a large group of people apparently only because it's easy but probably more likely because it allows you to feel better about yourself. Quit it. You know the world is not that simple.

Exactly, its like I said its oh so easy to judge when you cant understand what it is like for the other person.
